Innovation in the Dynamics of Acid is a compilation album by the British techno duo Universal Indicator, mixed by Mike Dred (The Kosmik Kommando) and released in the format CD in 2001 on the Rephlex Records label.

This compilation is a DJ mix created from tracks previously released on the «Blue», «Red», «Yellow» and «Green» albums and divided into 21 separate tracks with alternating durations of 1:01, 2:02, 3:03 and 6:06. Track lengths refer to the Roland synthesizers that were used to create the original tracks: SH-101, MC-202, TB-303, and TR-606 [1] .
The term "Innovation in the Dynamics of Acid" was first used by Rephlex co-founder Grant Wilson-Claridge in 1991 label's "manifesto", describing it as "a much loved and misunderstood genre of house music forgotten by some and indeed new to others, especially in Britain". [2] .
The compilation was re-released in Japan on December 16, 2012, via Melting Bot label [3] . The re-release includes four bonus tracks that previously appeared on Mike Dred's «Universal Indicator 5: Ultra-Violet» album.
