Clannad is a visual novel developed by Key and published by VisualArt's in 2004. The story follows Tomoya Okazaki, a discontented high school student whose life changes when he meets a girl one year older than him named Nagisa Furukawa. Kukui is a Japanese band consisting of Haruka Shimotsuki and Myu. They have produced songs for anime and games, most notably the Rozen Maiden anime series.

Thyme was a Japanese pop rock band. Originally, it was a solo project by the female singer Thyme, who had previously released three singles in 2002 as Sayaka Kamiyama. Kamiyama started collaborating with sound engineer Teppei Shimizu in July 2004, and changed her name to Thyme in June 2005. In December 2005, Thyme and Shimizu formed the duo "Thyme". In July 2006, Takafumi Hoshino officially joined and Thyme became a three-piece band. They had their major debut in September 2007 with their first official single "Hello". Thyme released their second single "Forever We Can Make It!" in April 2008; the title song was used as the opening theme to the anime series To Love-Ru. Thyme released their third single "Fly Away" on August 6, 2008, which had the title song used as the opening to the anime Mahō Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora. Thyme released their first album First 9uality on September 3, 2008. On September 23, 2010, the band officially announced they have broken up, and Thyme restarted her solo singing career. The band's name comes from the herb thyme.

"Rewrite" is a song by Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. It was released as the third single of their second full-length studio album, Sol-fa, on August 4, 2004. In 2016, they re-recorded Rewrite along with all songs from Sol-fa and released on November 30, 2016.

Rewrite is a visual novel developed by Key and published by VisualArt's in 2011. A fan disc for Rewrite titled Rewrite Harvest festa! was released in 2012. The discography of Rewrite and Harvest festa! consists of one studio album, seven singles, three soundtracks and seven remix albums. The core of the discography consists of two original soundtrack albums for the visual novels, one for Rewrite and the other for Harvest festa!. The soundtracks were produced by Key Sounds Label and released in 2011 and 2012. The music on the soundtracks was composed and arranged by Jun Maeda, Shinji Orito, Maiko Iuchi, Sōshi Hosoi, and Ryō Mizutsuki. An image song album was released in 2016. It was released as the group's first single in two years by Warner Bros. Entertainment and their subsidiary label Warner Home Video on July 29, 2015. The lyrics were written by Kisida and the music and arrangement were created by the band. Musically, "Gate (Sore wa Akatsuki no you ni)" is a rock song that features guitars, drums, and bass guitars in its instrumentation. An alternative version with different lyrics and slightly edited composition was released in January 2016, under the title "Gate II (Sekai wo Koete)".
