Inter University Centre for Bioscience (IUCB) was established at the School of Life Sciences, Kannur University, Kerala, India, by the Higher Education Department, Government of Kerala, to be a global center of excellence for research in biological sciences. Former Vice-President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari inaugurated the centre on July 10, 2010. [1] [2] IUCB also have a herbal garden in its premises named after E.K. Janaki Ammal, renowned ethnobotanist from Thalassery who was the former Director-General of the Botanical Survey of India. The School of Life Sciences together with Inter University Center for Bioscience have active research collaborations with different research Institutes and industries across the country. [3] [4] [5]
Government Medical College, Kozhikode, also known as Calicut Medical College (CMC), is a school of medicine in Kozhikode in the Indian state of Kerala. The college was established in 1957 as the second medical college in Kerala. Formerly affiliated to the University of Calicut, the college is now attached to the Kerala University for Health Sciences (KUHS).
Loyola College is a private Catholic higher education institution run by the Society of Jesus in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Markazu Saqafathi Sunniyya also called Markaz, Jamia Markaz, or Sunni Markaz, is a national Islamic University at Kozhikode in Kerala, India. The Markaz is located east of Kozhikode city. The foundation stone was laid by the Saudi Arabian Islamic scholar Muhammad Alawi al-Maliki in presence of Kanniyath Ahmed Musliyar and E. K. Aboobacker Musliyar.
Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai was an Indian physicist and astronomer who initiated space research and helped develop nuclear power in India. He was honoured with Padma Bhushan in 1966 and the Padma Vibhushan (posthumously) in 1972. He is internationally regarded as the Father of the Indian Space Program.
Calicut International Airport, also known as Karipur Airport, is an international airport located in Karipur, Malappuram district of Kerala, India. It serves the Malabar region of Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Palakkad. It is situated 28 kilometres away from Kozhikode city and 25 kilometres away from Malappuram city. It serves two of the seven metropolitan areas in the state- Kozhikode metropolitan area and Malappuram metropolitan area. The airport opened on 13 April 1988. The airport serves as an operating base for Air India Express and operates Hajj Pilgrimage services to Medina and Jeddah from Kerala. It was the eleventh-busiest airport in India in terms of overall passenger traffic. It is the third-busiest airport in Kerala after Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. It received international airport status on 2 February 2006. It is one of few airports in the country with a tabletop runway.
Kannur University is a multi-campus public university established in 1996 to provide development of higher education in Kasaragod, Kannur, and Wayanad districts of Kerala, India. It was established after the passing of Act No. 22 of 1996 of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. A university by the name of "Malabar University" had come into existence even earlier by the passing of an ordinance by the Governor of Kerala, on 9 November 1995.
Maulana Azad National Urdu University is a Central University located in the city of Hyderabad in the Indian state of Telangana. It was named after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's first Minister of Education, a freedom fighter in India's struggle for independence, and a scholar of Islam and Urdu literature. Pinarayi Vijayan, IPA: [piɳɐrɐːji ʋid͡ʒɐjɐn̺], is an Indian politician who is the current Chief Minister of Kerala, serving since 25 May 2016. A member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), he is the longest-serving secretary of the Kerala State Committee of the CPI(M). He also served in the government of Kerala as Minister of Electric Power and Co-operatives from 1996 to 1998. Vijayan won a seat in the May 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election as the CPI(M) candidate for Dharmadom constituency and was selected as the leader of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and became the 12th Chief Minister of Kerala. He is the first chief minister from Kerala to be re-elected after completing a full term in office.
Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology is a research institute in India, exclusive devoted to research in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is a state-owned road transport corporation in the Indian state of Kerala. It is one of the country's oldest state-run public bus transport services. The corporation is divided into three zones, and its headquarters is in the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. The Hill Highway or Malayora Highway or State Highway 59 (SH-59) is the longest state highway in Kerala. The proposed highway extends from Nandarapadavu in Kasaragod district to Vithura Aryanad Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram district, will have a length of 1332.16 km and will pass through 13 of the 14 districts, the exception being Alappuzha as that district is not part of the hilly ranges of Kerala. The expected outlay for the project is Rs.1,500 crore.

He has been the Vice-Chancellor of Cochin University of Science and Technology and Aligarh Muslim University.
