The Interior Designers Association of Nigeria (IDAN) is the professional body of interior designers and suppliers in Nigeria. [1] Founded in 2007 by Titi Ogufere, IDAN is the leading authority representing members who are mainly qualified interior designers, dealers of interior design products, finishing companies, and interior decorators in Nigeria. It has its headquarters in Lagos, with regional offices in Abuja and Port Harcourt. [2]

History

At its inception in 2017, IDAN's founding board members were Titi Ogufere, Ekua Abudu, Munirat Shonibare, Anselm Tabansi, Moni Fagbemi, Sarah Daniel and Mathew Eshalomi as board members. [3] [4]

Interior Designers Association of Nigeria, in 2017, hosted the first ever edition of African Culture and Design Festival in Africa, teaming up with 2017 congress of International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI), a body of professional interior architects and interior designers. [5]

The International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) represents professional interior architects and interior designers. Founded in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 20, 1963 as a not-for-profit, limited liability company to unite the profession and act as a forum for interior design issues, IFI is an associations' association, serving on the global level a membership of some thirty national organizations, and representing by 2015, 270,000 designers, educators and industrialists in 110 countries.

Titi Ogufere is a Nigerian interior designer, critical design thinker and publisher at Essential Media Group. She is the Creative Director at Essential Interiors Consultancy, a pioneer interior designing company in Nigeria. The award-winning practice was set up in 2002 and has since established an international identity with a wide variety of projects that are context-specific, innovative, experimental, critical and theoretical.
