The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) is a professional non-profit organization established in 1987 to promote, strengthen and protect the robotics industry worldwide. [1]
The purpose of the International Federation of Robotics is to promote research, development, use and international co-operation in the field of robotics, both industrial automated robots and service robots. The IFR is also coordinator of the International Symposium on Robotics (ISR), one of the oldest conferences for robotics research, founded in 1970. [1]
Today nearly all international industrial robot suppliers and 17 national robots associations are members of IFR. [2] Headquarters of this umbrella organization of national robotics associations is in Frankfurt, Germany. [3]

An industrial robot is a robot system used for manufacturing. Industrial robots are automated, programmable and capable of movement on three or more axes.

The association was reorganized and renamed as the Japan Industrial Robot Association (JIRA) in 1972, and was formally incorporated in 1973. The name of the association was changed again in 1994 to its current one to accommodate non-industrial robots such as personal robots. Its headquarters are in Tokyo.
The Commercial Spaceflight Federation is a private spaceflight industry group, incorporated as an industry association for the purposes of establishing ever higher levels of safety for the commercial human spaceflight industry, sharing best practices and expertise, and promoting the growth of the industry worldwide. He joined the faculty of the school of Mechanical System Engineering at the Chonnam National University in South Korea, and presently serves as an executive board member at the International Federation of Robotics (IFR). He has twice received the Scientist of The Year Prize from the Korea Science Reporters Association, and is also the recipient of the IFR's Golden Robot Award, among many other honours. He has also successfully commercialized several robotic systems for medical and industrial applications.
