The International Franz Liszt Piano Competition ("Liszt Competition") is an international piano competition. It is a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions.
The Competition is held in Utrecht in the Netherlands. It first took place in 1986, one hundred years after the death of Franz Liszt.
Each time the Liszt Competition has been held it has seen over two hundred selected participants. Since 2014, only 14 contestants are selected after the International Selection Rounds hosted in USA, Asia and Europe.

Lang Lang is a Chinese pianist who has performed with major orchestras around the world and appeared at many leading concert halls. Active since the 1990s, he was the first Chinese pianist to be engaged by the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic and many of the top American orchestras. In 1990, she gave the world premier performance of the recently discovered Franz Liszt Third Piano Concerto with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Leslie John Howard is an Australian pianist, musicologist and composer. He is best known for being the only pianist to have recorded the complete solo piano works of Franz Liszt, a project which included more than 300 premiere recordings. He has been described by The Guardian as "a master of a tradition of pianism in serious danger of dying out".
Konstantin Scherbakov is a Russian pianist. He was the winner of the first Rachmaninoff international piano competition in 1983. In 1990, he played solo in four recitals at the Chamber Music Festival of Asolo; this launched his international career.
Yingdi Sun孙颖迪 is a Chinese pianist who won First Prize at the prestigious 7th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition, which was held in Utrecht in 2005. By winning the prize he has embarked on a demanding two-year concert tour in the Netherlands and abroad. This tour takes him around the globe and includes, in addition to many concerts in leading Dutch concert halls, performances in France, Belgium, Germany, Finland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Macau, Hong Kong, China, the United States and South Africa.

Péter Tóth is a pianist and winner of the International Piano Competitions in Wittenberg (1997), Bovino (1998), International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Weimar (2000) and in Budapest (2001). Franz Liszt International Piano Competition in Budapest is a long-standing competition founded by the Office of International Music Competitions in Budapest as one of 17 competitions under the flagship name of "Budapest International Music Competition." The Franz Liszt International Piano Competition debuted in 1933 under the leadership of Ernő Dohnányi of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, where the competition was held.

The recording career of Russian pianist and composer Daniil Trifonov initially focused on the music of Frédéric Chopin. His first three albums, recorded in 2010 and released in 2011, exclusively consisted of works of Chopin: the first album, Daniil Trifonov plays Frédéric Chopin, consisting of music performed live in recitals in Italy, was released by Decca Records in April; his second album, Chopin: Mazurki; Konzert, containing performances from the 16th Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, was released in May; and finally, his third album, Chopin, a studio recording, was released in July. Trifonov's next album, Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No. 1, released in 2012, included a performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev.
