Iqbal Mehmood (born 21 November 1949) is an Indian politician and a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Sambhal. [2] [3] [4] [5] He is the senior leader of Samajwadi Party.

Early life and education

Iqbal Mehmood holds Bachelor of Science degree from Aligarh Muslim University in 1974. [6] [7]

Political career

Iqbal Mehmood has been an MLA seven times, first from 1991 to 1992, and then for six consecutive terms starting in 1996 for which he is now the incumbent. He represented the Sambhal constituency and is a member of the Samajwadi Party. [8]

Dharam Pal Yadav, also known as D. P. Yadav, is an Indian politician and a former cabinet minister in the Government of Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to Sarfabad village of Noida in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. D. P. Yadav has served 4 times as MLA. He was also a Member of Parliament (MP) in Lok Sabha and MP in Rajya Sabha.

Mohammad Azam Khan is an Indian politician, lawyer and elected representative who has served as the Member of Parliament from Rampur. He is one of the founding members of the Samajwadi Party and was a member of the Seventeenth Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh. He was also the senior most Cabinet Minister in the Government of Uttar Pradesh and has been elected member of the legislative assembly ten times from Rampur assembly constituency. He was disqualified from his elected seat when he received a two-year prison sentence from the court.

Dara Singh Chauhan is an Indian politician, currently serving as member of legislative council, and formerly represented the Madhuban in Uttar Pradesh as a member of Bharatiya Janata Party. He was former Cabinet Minister in Yogi Adityanath ministry. He also represented Ghosi in the 15th Lok Sabha, where he was leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party. In 16th Lok Sabha, he was defeated by Harinarayan Rajbhar who represented Bharatiya Janata Party by more than 140,000 votes.
