Isabella Dal Balcon (born 11 September 1977) is an Italian professional snowboarder based in Torino. [1] Dal Balcon has to date competed in two Winter Olympic Games in 2002 and 2006 but has failed to achieve a medal in either games. She has also competed in several world cups with more success achieving two podium positions including two first placings in 2006 and 2007. [2]

The International Paralympic Committee is an international non-profit organisation and the global governing body for the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Paralympic Games and functions as the international federation for nine sports. Founded on 22 September 1989 in Düsseldorf, West Germany, its mission is to "enable Paralympic athletes to achieve sporting excellence and inspire and excite the world". Furthermore, the IPC wants to promote the Paralympic values and to create sport opportunities for all persons with a disability, from beginner to elite level.
The International Ski and Snowboard Federation, also known as FIS, is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. It was previously known as the International Ski Federation until 26 May 2022 when the name was changed to include snowboard.
Jasey-Jay Anderson is a Canadian snowboarder and Olympic gold medallist, who competed in the 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, Winter Olympics. Anderson currently resides in Mont-Tremblant outside of Montreal.
Sergei Vladimirovich Tchepikov is a Russian politician and a former Soviet-Russian biathlete and cross-country skier who competed at six Winter Olympics, five in biathlon and one in cross-country skiing (1998). His last Olympic performance was a silver medal in the 4 × 7.5 km relay at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
Thobias Fredriksson is a Swedish former cross-country skier who competed since 2000. He won two medals at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin with a gold in the team sprint and a bronze in the individual sprint events.
Natalya Ivanova Baranova-Masalkina ; born February 25, 1975, in Krivosheino, Tomsk Oblast) is a former Russian cross-country skier who has competed from 1994 to 2006. She won a gold medal in the 4 × 5 km relay at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
Kristin Størmer Steira is a retired Norwegian cross-country skier. She competed from 2002 to 2015, and won six individual World Cup victories and five individual medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and Winter Olympic Games. She also won four gold medals with the Norway relay team. In Norwegian media, Steira was dubbed "the eternal fourth" due to her many finishes in fourth place.
Svetlana Sergeyevna Boldykova is a Russian professional snowboarder based in Tashtagol. Boldikova has to date competed in one Winter Olympic Games in 2006 where she would finish 8th along with several world cups but has to date only achieved one podium position a third placing in 2007 in Korea.
Lesley McKenna is a former British professional snowboarder based in Aviemore, Scotland. McKenna has to date competed in three Winter Olympic Games in 2002, 2006 and 2010 but has not won any medals. At the 2010 games, she crashed in both her qualification runs in the women's halfpipe and finished last. She has also competed on the world cup circuit for several years with more success achieving six podium positions including two first placings in 2003. She was ranked 3rd in the world by the FIS for halfpipe in 2004 despite suffering from a broken jaw which took her out for most of the season. Lesley was also an ambassador for Scotland and after competing worked as the international team manager for the brand Roxy which is the female sister brand of the surf brand Quiksilver. Lesley is now the Team Manager for the GB Park and Pipe Team.
Meelis Aasmäe is an Estonian professional cross-country skier based in Sultsi, Estonia. Aasmäe has to date competed in two Winter Olympic Games in 1998 and 2002 but has failed to achieve a medal in either games. He has also competed on the World Cup circuit for several years but is yet to achieve a podium placing.

Guidina Dal Sasso is an Italian cross-country skier and mountain runner who competed from 1982 to 2002. Her best World Cup finish was fourth twice, earning one each in 1985 and 1986. In 1985 she came third in the World Mountain Running Championships, and was a member of the winning team.
Vesna Fabjan is a Slovenian cross-country skier who has competed since 2001. Competing in three Winter Olympics, her best finish is third in the individual sprint event at Sochi in 2014.
Para-snowboarding classification is the classification system for para-snowboarding. The sport originally called Adaptive Snowboard is now practiced by hundreds of athletes around the world. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) defines three classes: SB-LL for athletes with a physical impairment affecting one or both legs, and SB-UL for athletes with a physical impairment affecting one or both arms who compete standing. The sport made its official Winter Paralympic debut in the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, Russia.

Great Britain competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, from 4 to 20 February 2022. The Great Britain team consists of 50 athletes. Eve Muirhead and Dave Ryding were the country's flagbearers during the opening ceremony. Meanwhile curler Bruce Mouat was the flagbearer during the closing ceremony.
The women's snowboard cross competition in snowboarding at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 9 February, at the Genting Snow Park in Zhangjiakou. Lindsey Jacobellis of the United States became the Olympic champion. Jacobellis dominated the snowboard cross for almost two decades, winning the X Games ten times and the world championships six times, but her only Olympic medal so far was the silver in 2006, when she started celebrating her win too early and was overtaken at the finish line. Chloé Trespeuch of France, the 2014 bronze medalist, won the silver medal, and Meryeta O'Dine of Canada the bronze, her first Olympic medal.
