Ishita Moitra (born 1983) is a screenwriter based in Mumbai, India.

Life

Moitra was born on 8 August 1983 in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. [1]

An early work was the 2009 film Kambakht Ishq which she wrote with the director Sabir Khan. [1]

She has written several films, Hindi TV shows [1] and web series. She was one of the primary writers on the 2023 hit film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Her other work includes contributions to the script for the 2020 film Shakuntala Devi. [2]

Khubsoorat (transl. Beautiful) is a 1980 Indian Hindi-language comedy drama film, directed and produced by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, and written by Gulzar, Shanu Banerjee, Ashok Rawat, and D. N. Mukherjee. The film stars Ashok Kumar, Rekha, Rakesh Roshan and Dina Pathak. It received critical acclaim and was a box-office success. The film was remade in Telugu as Swargam in 1981, in Tamil as Lakshmi Vandhachu, and in Malayalam as Vannu Kandu Keezhadakki. The 2014 film of the same name was loosely based on it. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is the soundtrack that accompanied the 2023 Hindi-language romantic comedy family drama film of the same name produced and directed by Karan Johar. Featuring music composed by Pritam and lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the album consisted of eight tracks in the film, while also including six alternative takes of the songs, totaling up to 14 in number, running for 56 minutes. The soundtrack was released by Saregama on 31 July 2023, three days after the film's release.
