Islampur railway station (station code:- IPR) is located in Islampur, Nalanda district, Bihar state, India. It comes under the East Central Railway zone of Danapur division. [1]
There are many trains from Islampur to other big cities. Islampur is connected directly to New Delhi by the Magadh Express. A new train, the Hatia–Rajendra Nagar–Islampur Intercity Express, is also running. Currently two express trains and two passenger trains, Patna–Islampur Passenger and Fatuha–Islampur Passenger (formerly Buxar–Islampur fast passenger) run on this track.
Feasibility studies for the electrification of the Manpur–Tilaiya–Kiul sector and Fatuha–Islampur–Bakhtiyarpur–Rajgir sectors were announced in the rail budget for 2010–11. [2]
The Fatuha–Tilaiya line is a railway line connecting Fatuha on the Howrah–Delhi main line and Tilaiya on the Gaya–Kiul line both in the Indian state of Bihar. The line was earlier known as Fatuha–Islampur line. A small portion of the line from Islampur to Natesar is still to be opened for use.

The 20801 / 20802 Magadh Express is a superfast train running between New Delhi and Islampur. Its number is 20801/20802 and it departs from Islampur and reaches New Delhi the following day. In the past, its number was 2401/2402 and was run from the Northern Railway zone. Now it is run as a train from South Eastern Railway zone. Earlier a train named Sonbhadra Express used to run between Patna to New Delhi and vice versa. It was converted to Magadh Express after combining it with Vikramshila Express.
Kiul Junction railway station, is one of the major railway junctions in Danapur division of East Central Railway. Kiul is connected to metropolitan areas of India, by the Howrah–Delhi main line via Mugalsarai–Patna route which runs along the historic Grand Trunk Road. The Danapur railway division's main line crosses Sahibganj loop line at the Kiul Junction. The main line crosses the Kiul River between Kiul Junction and Lakhisarai Junction. The Gaya–Kiul line also starts from the Kiul Junction.

Mokama is connected to metropolitan areas of India, by the Delhi–Kolkata main line via Mugalsarai–Patna route. Mokama is located in Mokama city in Barh in the Indian state of Bihar. Due to its location on the Howrah–Patna–Mughalsarai main line many Patna, Barauni-bound express trains coming from Howrah, Sealdah, Ranchi, Tatanagar stop here. Mokama station is an important of the Danapur division as it links, Assam through the Mokama–Barauni section and North Bihar by the Rajendra Bridge on the Ganga river.

Gaya Junction railway station is a junction station serving the city of Gaya, the headquarters of Gaya district and Magadh Division in the Indian state of Bihar. Gaya is in the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya railway division of the East Central Railway zone. Grand Chord rail-line that connects Howrah and New Delhi passes through Gaya. A new Bhagalpur station will also be built near the bypass at a cost of 200 crores.
