The Ispahani Hangar is a Pakistan International Airlines wide-body aircraft maintenance hangar at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan. [1] [2] It was named in honour of Mirza Ahmad Ispahani, the first and longest-serving chairman of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The hangar for wide body and narrow-body aircraft with a supporting airframe overhaul shop was completed and commissioned in 1980.

The hangars in Karachi are used for checks and maintenance of aircraft operated by PIA and by other airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Iran Air. and Turkish Airlines. [3]

Pakistan International Airlines Flight 661 was a Pakistani domestic passenger flight from Chitral to Islamabad, operated by Pakistan's flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines. On 7 December 2016, the aircraft serving the route, an ATR 42-500 twin-turboprop, crashed near Havelian following an engine failure. AirSial is a Pakistani private airline based in Sialkot, inaugurated on 9 December 2020. Air Sial had its first domestic flight on December 25, 2020, and started flying internationally, with King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah as its first destination, on 29 March 2023. International operations were extended to Muscat in Oman from June 2023.

Pakistan International Airlines Flight 8303 was a scheduled domestic flight from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan. On 22 May 2020, the Airbus A320 crashed into Model Colony, a densely populated residential area of Karachi only a few kilometres from the runway, while on a second approach after a failed landing attempt with landing gear not extended.

Fly Jinnah or FJ is a first low-cost carrier (LCC) owned and operated jointly by Lakson Group of Pakistan and Air Arabia Group of the United Arab Emirates. The joint venture was announced on 3 September 2021. The airline is based in Karachi and currently serves five domestic destinations. Iqbal Ali Lakhani is the airline's current chairman.
