Jason Charlie (J. C.) Duncan (born June 27,1929) was an American politician in the state of South Carolina. He served in the South Carolina House of Representatives as a member of the Democratic Party from 1969 to 1972 and 1975 to 1980,representing Spartanburg County,South Carolina. He was a farmer,Methodist preacher,teacher,college professor and realtor. [1]
The Carolina Panthers are a professional American football team based in Charlotte,North Carolina. James Strom Thurmond Sr. was an American politician who represented South Carolina in the United States Senate from 1954 to 2003. Prior to his 48 years as a senator,he served as the 103rd governor of South Carolina from 1947 to 1951. Thurmond was a member of the Democratic Party until 1964,when he joined the Republican Party for the remainder of his legislative career. He also ran for president in 1948 as the Dixiecrat candidate,receiving over a million votes and winning four states.

Christopher Gustavus Memminger was a German-born American politician and a secessionist who participated in the formation of the Confederate States government. He was the principal author of the Provisional Constitution (1861) as well as the founder of the Confederate financial system. Coleman Livingston Blease was an American politician of the Democratic Party and perennial candidate who served as the 89th governor of South Carolina from 1911 to 1915,and as a United States senator from 1925 to 1931. Blease was the political heir of Benjamin Tillman. He led a political revolution in South Carolina by building a political base of white textile mill workers from the state's upcountry region. He was notorious for playing on the prejudices of poor whites to gain their votes and was an unrepentant white supremacist. Ultimately,despite his political strength,Blease failed to pass any significant legislation while governor.

The 2022 South Carolina gubernatorial election took place on November 8,2022,to elect the governor of South Carolina. Incumbent Republican Governor Henry McMaster took office on January 24,2017,upon the resignation of Nikki Haley and was elected to a full term in his own right in 2018. He ran for re-election for a second full term in office and secured the Republican nomination in the June 14 primary. Joe Cunningham,former United States Representative from South Carolina's 1st congressional district,was the Democratic nominee.
