Bergman attended Oak Harbor High School in Oak Harbor, Ohio, from 1999 to 2003. He won the individual state championship in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division II state tournament, winning state titles in 2002 and 2003. After an injury during his sophomore year, Bergman finished his junior and senior years undefeated (85-0), and holds the school record for most wins in a row, with 86. [2]
At Ohio State University, Bergman was a four-time NCAA qualifier and three-time NCAA placer, including finishing second in the 2008 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. Bergman also placed third as a true freshman in 2004 and fourth in 2007 as a junior. He finished his college career with 129 wins against 36 losses, for a winning percentage of 78%. [3]
In 2010, Bergman represented the United States at the 2010 World Wrestling Championships in Moscow in the 96 kilogram weight class. Bergman split his matches, finishing in 10th place with a 1-1 record (besting Farkhod Anakulov of Tajikistan and losing to Iranian Erfan Amiri). Bergman again represented the US in the 2013 World Wrestling Championships, finishing 0-1 and in 25th place.
Bergman has been on seven USA World teams (top three finish in the World/Olympic trials); 2009–2011, 2012–2016 and 2005-2006 in Greco-Roman. Bergman is also a two-time Cerro Pelado champion (2010 and 2015) and a 2014 Brazil Cup champion.

Kerry R. McCoy is an American wrestler and coach. He competed at the Olympic Games twice and four times at the World Cup Championships. In college he was a three-time NCAA All-American and a two-time NCAA National Champion. He was the head coach of the University of Maryland's wrestling program for eleven years, stepping down in 2019. In 2014, McCoy was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member.
Ken Chertow is an American Olympic freestyle wrestler, who competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. Chertow currently conducts wrestling camps across the United States. He serves as a mentor for thousands of young wrestlers whom he coaches in his clinics, camps and Home Training Center in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania. In March 2017, he was named the first head coach of the just-established wrestling program at Queen's University of Charlotte.

The Cornell Big Red wrestling team represents Cornell University of Ithaca, New York. In 2021, two-time NCAA All-American and former Big Red wrestler Mike Grey took over for Rob Koll, who left for Stanford after 28 years as head coach. Koll has led the team to eight top-five finishes in the NCAA Division I wrestling tournament, including second-place finishes in 2010 and 2011. The 2010 and 2011 finishes were the best ever for an Ivy League team. In 2012, Cornell wrestling finished fourth in the NCAA tournament, while crowning three individual national champions Kyle Dake (157 lbs), Steve Bosak (184 lbs) and Cam Simaz (197 lbs). This was the first time in program history when there were multiple national champions (3) in the same year. Additionally, Kyle Dake went on to become the only wrestler in U.S. history to capture four individual national championships in four different weight classes. Outside of the NCAA tournament, Cornell has been Ivy League champion a record 40 times and was league champion for 17 consecutive seasons between 2003 and 2019. During that streak the team won 92 consecutive Ivy League dual meets. Cornell has won the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association championship 26 times including 11 consecutive titles between 2007 and 2017. These streaks remain the longest in wrestling history for their respective divisions.

In freestyle, Cox is a two-time World Champion at 92 kilos, and while competing at 86 kilos, he claimed a bronze medal from the 2016 Summer Olympics and a 2017 World Championship bronze medal. During college, Cox wrestled for the Missouri Tigers, and was a three–time NCAA Division I national champion and four–time Mid-American Conference champion, becoming one of the most accomplished Tigers in the program's history.
Kyven Ross Gadson is an American amateur wrestler. Currently a senior competitor in amateur freestyle wrestling, earlier Gadson, while wrestling for the Iowa State Cyclones, was a three-time All-American in NCAA Division I collegiate wrestling and won the 2015 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in the 197-lb weight class by pinning future Olympic and World Championship gold medalist Kyle Snyder in his final collegiate match.

In freestyle, he is the defending US Open National Champion, was the 2021 Pan American Continental champion, claimed the 2021 Matteo Pellicone Ranking Series and the 2021 Poland Open titles, earned silver and bronze medals from the US Open National Championships and was the 2019 U23 US Team Member. As a folkstyle wrestler, Pantaleo was a three–time NCAA DI All-American and a Big Ten Conference champion out of the University of Michigan.
