Jach'a Quta (Sud Yungas)

Jach'a Quta (Aymara jach'a big, quta lake, [1] "big lake", also spelled Jachcha Kkota) is a lake in Bolivia located in the La Paz Department, Sud Yungas Province, Yanacachi Municipality, north-west of the mountain Mururata. It lies south-east of the mountain Wanakuni and the lakes Warawarani and Jisk'a Warawarani at the mountain Thakis Uma. One of the smaller lakes near Jach'a Quta is named Jisk'a Quta ("small lake", Jiskha Kkota). It is situated north-east of Jach'a Quta. [2] [3]

Los Andes Province (Bolivia) Province in La Paz Department, Bolivia

Los Andes is one of the twenty provinces in the central parts of the Bolivian La Paz Department. The province was legally founded on November 24, 1917, during the presidency of José Gutiérrez Guerra. The Spanish name of the province means "The Andes", referring to its position within the Cordillera Real which is part of the Bolivian Andes mountain range. The capital of the province is Pucarani, which has a population of 918 as of the 2001 census. Pucarani is situated in the Altiplano west of the Cordillera Real offering a view of some of its highest mountains such as Ch'iyar Juqhu, Chachakumani, Kunturiri, Wayna Potosí and Chacaltaya.

Batallas Municipality is the third municipal section of the Los Andes Province in the La Paz Department, Bolivia. Its capital is Batallas.

Chiyar Quta (Oruro)

Ch'iyar Quta is a small Bolivian lake located in the Sajama Province of the Oruro Department near the border to Chile. It is situated at a height of about 5,090 meters inside the boundaries of the Sajama National Park. Ch'iyar Quta lies south-east of the peaks of Laram Q'awa, Milluni and Kunturiri, south-west of Jisk'a Kunturiri and north of Patilla Pata.

Wila Lluxita is a 5,244-metre-high (17,205 ft) mountain in the Andes. It is located in the Cordillera Real of Bolivia in the La Paz Department, Larecaja Province, Guanay Municipality. It is situated at the end of the Janq'u Quta valley between Janq'u Laya and Janq'u Uyu in the west and Mullu Apachita in the southeast, all of them higher than 5,000 m.

Jisk'a Pata is a 5,508-metre-high (18,071 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality, Kirani Canton. It is situated between the mountains Jallawaya in the west and Janq'u Uyu in the south-east, north of Warawarani, Wila Lluxi and Phaq'u Kiwuta, all of them higher than 5,000 m.

Juri Quta is a lake in the Cordillera Real of Bolivia located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality, Turquia Canton. It lies north of the Kunturiri massif, south-east of Wila Lluxita and east of Wila Lluxi, at the feet of Mullu Apachita and Jisk'a Turini. Juri Quta is situated at a height of about 4,596 metres (15,079 ft), about 0,5 km long and 0,25 km at its widest point. The little lake north of Juri Quta is named Ch'uxña Quta.

Phaq'u Kiwuta is a mountain in the Andes, about 5,589 m (18,337 ft) high. It is located in the Cordillera Real of Bolivia in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality, Kirani Canton. It is situated south-west of the mountain Wila Lluxi, south-east of Warawarani and north of a lake named Quta Thiya in some maps. Other prominent mountains nearby are Jisk'a Pata and Janq'u Uyu in the north, and Wila Lluxita and Mullu Apachita in the north-east, all of them higher than 5,000 m.

Q'ara Quta is a lake on the western side of the Cordillera Real of Bolivia located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality, Comunidad Alto Peñas. It lies north-west of the Kunturiri massif, between the lakes Wichhu Quta (5 km) in the south-west and Khotia Quta and Janq'u Quta in the north-east. The lakes are connected by Jach'a Jawira, a river which originates near the mountain Wila Lluxita and flows down to Lake Titicaca. Q'ara Quta is situated at a height of about 4,400 metres (14,400 ft), about 5 km long and 0,65 km at its widest point.

Jacha Jawira (Los Andes)

Jach'a Jawira which downstream is named Japha Jawira is a Bolivian river east of Lake Titicaca in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality and in the Omasuyos Province, Achacachi Municipality. Its waters flow to Lake Titicaca via the Qiqa Jawira.

Warawarani is an about 5,542-metre-high (18,182 ft) mountain at a small lake of the same name in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality, Chachacomani Canton. It is situated north and northwest of Phaq'u Kiwuta and Wila Lluxi and northeast of Qala T'uxu.

Jach'a Qullu is a 5,298-metre-high (17,382 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It lies in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Jach'a Qullu is situated southwest of Jisk'a Pata and Jach'a Pata, southwest of Jach'a Juqhu and northwest of Wila Lluxi, Warawarani and Qala T'uxu.

Jach'a Juqhu is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia, about 5,192 metres (17,034 ft) high. It lies in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Jach'a Juqhu is situated south of the mountain Wari Umaña, south-west of Jisk'a Pata, north-west of Wila Lluxi and Warawarani, north of Qala T'uxu and north-east of Jach'a Qullu.

Jach'a Pata is a 5,424-metre-high (17,795 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Jach'a Pata lies south of Jisk'a Pata, west of Janq'u Uyu, north of Wila Lluxi and north-east of Warawarani.

Qullqi Warani Mountain in Bolivia

Qullqi Warani is a mountain in the Oruro Department in Bolivia at the border with Chile, north-west of the extinct Sajama volcano. It is situated in the Sajama Province, in the west of the Curahuara de Carangas Municipality. According to the Bolivian IGM map 1:50,000 'Nevados Payachata Hoja 5739-I' it lies entirely on Bolivian terrain. Qullqi Warani lies south-west of the mountains Jisk'a Kunturiri and Patilla Pata, north of Phaq'u Q'awa and south-east of Kunturiri. The little lakes Q'asiri Quta (Khasiri Kkota) and Sura Pata (Sora Pata, Sorapata) lie at its feet, east and north of it.

Llamp'u is a 5,519-metre-high (18,107 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes. It is located in the La Paz Department, Murillo Province, La Paz Municipality, north of the mountain Tilata. A lake named Warawarani lies at its feet, south of it.

Wila Quta (Oruro) Mountain in Bolivia

Wila Quta is a mountain in the Andes in Bolivia reaching up to 5,144 metres (16,877 ft) above sea level. It is located in the Oruro Department, Challapata Province, in the south-east of the Challapata Municipality. Wila Quta is situated south of the Jach'a River and north of Nacional Route 1. It lies next to the mountain Wila Qullu, northwest of it, which reaches the same height.

Quta Qutani is a mountain in the Bolivian Andes, about 4,600 metres (15,092 ft) high. It is located in the La Paz Department, Loayza Province, Malla Municipality. Quta Qutani is situated northwest of the little town of Malla and the mountains named Malla Qullu and Wila Willk'i and northeast of Kunturiri. The Jach'a K'uchu Jawira (Jachcha Khuchu Jahuira) originates east of the mountain. It flows along its southeastern slope and to the southwest as a tributary of the Malla Jawira.

Ch'uxña Quta is a lake in the La Paz Department in Bolivia. It is situated in the Murillo Province, Palca Municipality. Ch'uxña Quta lies northeast of the mountain Tata Ch'iyar Qullu.

Jisk'a Turini is a 4,905-metre-high (16,093 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, in the northeast of the Batallas Municipality. Jisk'a Turini is situated southwest of Turini and southeast of Mullu Apachita. The lakes named Juri Quta and Ch'uxña Quta lie between Mullu Apachita and Jisk'a Turini.

Quña Quñani is a 5,006-metre-high (16,424 ft) mountain in the north of the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Larecaja Province, Sorata Municipality. Quña Quñani lies south of the Janq'u Uma-Illampu massif between the lakes Laram Quta in the northwest and Warawarani (Huara Huarani) and Jisk'a Warawarani (Jiskha Huara Huarani) in the east and southeast. It is situated north and northwest of the mountains Salluyu (Salluyo) and Janq'u K'ark'a.
