Jack Thompson (born March 19, 2002) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL).
On October 7, 2020, the Tampa Bay Lightning selected Thompson with the 93rd overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. [1]
During the 2020–21 OHL season, Thompson was loaned to Surahammars IF of Sweden's Division 1. Thompson went there while waiting for the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) season to resume due to the COVID-19 pause. [2] The OHL subsequently decide to cancel the season. [3]
On May 18, 2021, the Tampa Bay Lightning signed Thompson to a three-year, entry-level contract. Thompson had appeared in 18 games with Surahammars IF the prior season, recording nine goals and nine assists for 18 points. He also appeared in one game with Tampa Bay' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. Thompson recorded an assist in his professional debut. Prior to that, Thompson had appeared in 115 career games with the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL. [4]
On January 6, 2024, Thompson made his NHL debut with the Lightning against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden. [5] On March 7, Thompson along with a 2024 third-round draft pick was traded to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Anthony Duclair. [6] On April 15, Thompson made his Sharks debut in a 9–2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. [7]

Cory Stillman is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and former player. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for several teams between 1994 and 2011, winning the Stanley Cup twice. He is currently the Head Coach of the Guelph Storm.
Darren William Rumble is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former professional ice hockey player. Rumble played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, St. Louis Blues and Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL), but played most of his career with various minor league teams, winning the Eddie Shore Award as the American Hockey League (AHL)'s best defenceman in 1997. He won the Stanley Cup with the Lightning in 2004. After retiring later that year, Rumble became an assistant coach with the Springfield Falcons of the AHL. He became head coach of the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL in 2008, holding the position until January 2010. He then took up various coaching positions in the minor leagues. He has served as head coach of the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League.
Thomas Cullum Pyatt is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He spent most of his career in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators. Verhaeghe won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Lightning in 2020, after which he signed as a free agent with the Panthers. Verhaeghe won a second Stanley Cup with Florida in 2024, becoming the first player to win a Stanley Cup with both teams from the state of Florida.

The 2020–21 Tampa Bay Lightning season was the 29th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on December 16, 1991. The Lightning entered the season as the defending Stanley Cup champions. In a joint announcement from the NHL and NHLPA on October 6, 2020, a target date of January 1, 2021 was set for the start of the season. It was reported December 18, 2020 that the two parties had tentatively agreed to a 56-game season scheduled to begin on January 13, 2021.
