Jacob El Aida Chaffey (born 8 November 2001) is a Maltese track and field sprinter who most notably competed at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, and the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships, in Birmingham. El Aida also has a twin brother, Omar El Aida Chaffey.
At the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships, El Aida competed in the 60 metres event. El Aida raced in heat 1 running a time of 7.09 seconds which was a good enough time for 42nd place overall, but wasn't fast enough to qualify through to the semifinals and was 0.31 seconds away from the slowest qualifier. At the 2018 European U18 Athletics Championships, El Aida ran the 200 m event. He was drafted into heat five in which he came fifth with a time of 22.00 seconds, equaling his personal best and qualifying him to the semifinals. In the semifinals, El Aida was drafted into race two. He ran the race in 21.60 seconds, beating his previous personal best by 0.40 seconds, with this time he gained fifth place but wasn't able to qualify to the finals. [2]
Five days after the European U18 championships, El Aida was racing in the World U20 championships in Tampere, Finland. He was competing in the 200 m event. He was drafted into heat five and, other than Thando Dlodlo who didn't start, finished last of the eight sprinters with a time of 22.17 seconds. As a result, he was unable to advance through to the later rounds of competition. [3]
Because of El Aida's result at the 2018 European U18 Athletics Championships in the 200 m, coming in the top eleven sprinters at the event, qualified him to compete at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. In stage one of the event, El Aida ran the race in 22.31 seconds placing him in 20th and the slowest stage two race. In his stage two race, El Aida ran 21.80 seconds making his final total 44.11 seconds and finishing 20th of 23 athletes.
El Aida competed in the men's 100 m and 200 m events. In the 100 metres, El Aida was drafted into heat one, he ran the race in 11.23 seconds but finished fifth, ninth overall, but wasn't fast enough to qualify for the finals. In his 200-metre race, he also finished fifth with a time of 22.74 seconds and once again ninth overall, he wasn't fast enough to advance to the finals. [4]
Kim Collins is a former Kittitian track and field sprinter. In 2003, he became the World Champion in the 100 metres. He represented his country at the Summer Olympics on five occasions, from 1996 to 2016, and was the country's first athlete to reach an Olympic final. He competed at ten editions of the World Championships in Athletics, from 1995 to 2015, winning five medals. He was a twice runner-up in the 60 metres at the IAAF World Indoor Championships. At regional level, he was a gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games and a silver medallist at the Pan American Games. As of 2023, he is the only Individual World Championships Gold medallist from Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Darvis "Doc" Darell Patton is a retired American track and field athlete who competed in sprinting events. He is a two-time US Champion in the 200-meter dash and won the silver medal in the event at the 2003 World Championships. He is a three-time Olympian and a four-time participant at the World Athletics Championships.
Marlon Ronald Devonish, is an English former sprinter who competed in the 100 metres and 200 metres. A prodigious relay runner with particular strength as a 'bend' runner, Devonish ran the third leg for the Great Britain quartet which won the 4 x 100 metres at the 2004 Olympic Games, and won four World Championship medals in the same event in 1999, 2005, 2007 and 2009.

Ivet Miroslavova Lalova-Collio is a Bulgarian athlete who specialises in the 100 metres and 200 metres sprint events. She is the 13th-fastest woman in the history of the 100 metres. She finished fourth in the 100 metres and fifth in the 200 metres at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Her career was interrupted for two years between June 2005 and May 2007 due to a leg injury sustained in a collision with another athlete. In June 2012 she won gold at the 2012 European Athletics Championships in the Women's 100 metres. In July 2016 she won two silver medals at the 2016 European Athletics Championships in both the Women's 100 and 200 metres. She has participated in five editions of the Olympic Games.
Aaron Nigel Armstrong is a track and field sprint athlete who competes internationally for Trinidad and Tobago. He is the 2008 Olympic champion in 4 × 100 metres relay.
Jaysuma Saidy Ndure is a Gambian-Norwegian sprinter. He is of Serer heritage of the noble Ndure family. In 2002, he went to Oslo, aged 18 and settled with his father who has lived in Norway since the 1970s. Having changed nationality from Gambia to Norway in 2006, he holds Norwegian records in the 100 and in the 200 metres, and is the seventh and fourth fastest European of all times on the two distances. He has a bronze medal from the African Championships and several top-three placings in IAAF Golden League meets and the IAAF World Athletics Final.
Kerron Stewart is a retired Jamaican sprinter who specialized in the 100 metres and 200 metres. She is the 2008 Jamaican national champion in the 100 m clocking 10.80s. She defeated World Champion Veronica Campbell-Brown in the process and now is the 2008 Summer Olympics silver medalist after she tied with Sherone Simpson in a time of 10.98s. She also earned a bronze medal in the 200 metres at the 2008 Summer Olympics with a time of 22.00s. She was born in Kingston and retired after the 2018 season.
Coby Miller is an American track and field athlete, who specialises in the sprint events. In his career, he recorded a sub-10 second personal best in the 100 meters and a sub-20 second best in the 200 meters. In the latter distance, he won the 1999 Summer Universiade and reached the 2000 Sydney Olympics final. He suffered leg injuries in the 2001 and 2002 seasons, but returned in late 2002 as part of the gold-medal-winning American 4 x 100 m relay team at the IAAF World Cup, breaking the championship record. He ran under ten seconds in the 100 m Olympics Trials in 2004, but failed to qualify for the event. However, he won an Olympic silver medal at the 2004 Athens Games as part of the American 4 x 100 m relay team. At his peak he was regularly ranked among the top ten American sprinters.

Gerald Phiri is a Zambian sprinter who participates in 60 metre, 100 metre and 200 metre events in both indoor and outdoor events. He began competing in athletics while in school and continued his career at Texas A&M University. He became the first sprinter to achieve a 100–200 sprint double at the Big 12 Conference event and earned an All-American award. Phiri's international début in the 2009 World Championship in Athletics where he was eliminated in the semi-finals of the 100 metres. He won a silver medal in a 60 metres event in his second year at university, and secured three medals at the 2010 Big 12 Conference meet.
Lidiane Lopes is a Cape Verdean sprinter who specialises in the 100 metres and 200 metres. She is the current Cape Verdean record holder in the 100-metre sprint. Lopes has competed at both the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. At both Olympics, she competed in the 100 metres. She has also competed in a World Championships, a World Junior Championships, a World Youth Championships, a Jeux de la Francophonie, a Lusophony Games, an African Games, and an Ibero-American Athletics Championships.
Maoulida Darouèche is a Comoran hurdler who specialises in the 400 metres hurdles and who has also competed in the javelin throw. Darouèche competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2016 Summer Olympics. At both Olympics he competed in the 400 metres hurdles. He has also competed in two World Championships, an African athletics championships and a Jeux de la Francophonie.
Jason Livermore is a Jamaican track and field sprinter who competes in the 100 metres and 200 metres. He has personal bests of 10.05 seconds and 20.13 seconds for the distances, respectively. He was the bronze medallist in the 200 m at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Nick Joseph is a Saint Lucian track and field athlete who specializes in the 100 metres and the 200 metres. He competed for Saint Lucia at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Joseph competed in the men's 100 m in which he was drafted into heat two. As they were almost about to commence the race, the race was stopped after Joseph committed a false start, he was later disqualified and wasn't able to advance through to the later rounds. Joseph also competed at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships in the 60 metre event. He ran the race in a time of 7.07 seconds, a personal best, but finished seventh out of eight sprinters and this wasn't enough to advance to the later rounds.
