Herrera defeated Mark John Yap of the Philippines on February 26, 2022 for the WBA Asia Super Featherweight title. [1] On June 18, 2022 Herrera won the WBC International Super Featherweight Title. On November 13, 2022 Herrera defeated Franklin Manzanilla for his first defense of the WBC International Super Featherweight Title. [2]

Herrera is the grandson of Cuban boxing legend Ángel Herrera Vera. [3]
Jeff Fenech is an Australian former professional boxer who competed between 1984 and 2008. He won world titles in three weight divisions, having held the IBF bantamweight title from 1985 to 1987, the WBC super-bantamweight title from 1987 to 1988, the WBC featherweight title from 1988 to 1990. He retroactively won a fourth weight division title, the WBC super-featherweight title in 1991, after the WBC recounted his first bout against Azumah Nelson which had been a controversial decision draw. Fenech was trained by renowned Sydney-based trainer Johnny Lewis.
Marco Antonio Barrera Tapia is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1989 to 2011. He held multiple world championships in three weight classes between 1995 and 2007, from super bantamweight to super featherweight.
Azumah Nelson is a Ghanaian former professional boxer who competed from 1979 to 2008. He was a two-weight world champion, having held the WBC featherweight title from 1984 to 1987 and the WBC super-featherweight title twice between 1988 and 1997. Joel Casamayor Johnson is a Cuban American former professional boxer who competed from 1996 to 2011. He held world championships in two weight classes, including the WBA super featherweight title from 2000 to 2002; and the WBC, Ring magazine and lineal lightweight titles between 2006 and 2008. As an amateur, Casamayor won a gold medal in the bantamweight division at the 1992 Olympics, after which he defected to the United States on the eve of the 1996 Olympics.
Markus Beyer was a German professional boxer who won the World Boxing Council super middleweight title. As an amateur, he represented Germany at the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games in the light middleweight division.
