Jagan Kumar (born 21 September 1988) is an Indian professional motorcycle racer who won ten Indian National motorcycle racing championships in the 165cc class. [1] He races for Petronas TVS Racing team. [2] [3] [4] in the fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championships. In February 2022, he won after taking the third place [5] in the 8th of the 9-race, five round 2021 Championship which was extended to 2022 due to COVID-19. [6]

Early life

Jagan Kumar hails from a simple Tamil Muslim family in Triplicane, Chennai. His father used to drive an auto-rickshaw for a living. [7] Jagan used to work as a newspaper boy distributing newspapers house to house and as a courier boy to help meet the family needs [8] and support his B.Com. studies. He first went to Madras Motor Sports Club track in 2006 as a fan. [7] Next year he took up racing and participated in his first race in 2007 and showed enough talent to be picked up by TVS Racing in 2009. He also spotted and mentored KY Ahamad, a fellow rider from Triplicane, in 2012. Ahamad will be the second Indian to race in MotoGP. He got a wild card for Moto3 to take part in the Indian Grand Prix.

Career

He was the first Indian to win in Asia Road Racing (Suzuki Asian Challenge). [9] He won second place in the Asian Challenge in the year 2015 and 2016. [10] [11]

He was the Indian National champion in the 165cc class from 2012 to 2021. [1]

He currently competes in Indian National motorcycle racing championship and Asian Road Racing Championship.

Arun Muthukrishnan has also represented India in the 2012 Yamaha ASEAN cup held in Philippines.

Rajini Krishnan is an Indian motorcycle racer. He became national road racing champion in 2003 and went on to win eight more National titles till 2011 and, after 10 years he won the 2021 National title again on 05/02/2022, as the championship was delayed due to COVID 19. In 2013, he became the first Indian winner of an international road racing event with his victory at the Losail Asian Road Racing Championship in Qatar. He won the Malaysian Superbike championship in 2015.

Naresh Babu. J is a professional motorcycle road racer and a National champion in the 165cc class. In 2014 he became the first rider to win 4 championship titles in a single season. He took part in Honda one make CBR250cc Expert category in Indian National racing championship in 2015.

TVS One Make Championship is an annual motorcycling event conducted by TVS Motor Company. The championship is conducted in five rounds organized at Madras Motor Race Track, Kari Motor Speedway and Buddh International Circuit. The One Make Championship is approved by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

Harith Noah is a professional motorsports athlete from Shoranur in Kerala, India. He represents India in international cross country rallies such as the Dakar Rally. He is also the second rider from India to finish Dakar rally successfully after C.S. Santosh and is also the fastest.

Copparam Shreyas Hareesh was an Indian racing rider. He won the inaugural MiniGP India series in September 2022. Shreyas made his National debut in 2021 and got a podium and a victory in his very first year. At the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 in Lucknow, he was felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 10 February 2023.

Kadai Yaseen Ahamed is a professional motorcycle road racer and the 2021 Indian national champion in the Pro-Stock 301 to 400cc class. He rides for Petronas TVS Racing team. He will become the first Indian rider in Moto3 on September 24.
