Education

Jagannath Bhattacharya had his primary education in Santragachi Kedarnath Institution, Howrah. [3] Then he gained MBBS from Calcutta University in 1977 and MS (Ortho) degree from University College of Medicine (CU) in 1984. [2]

Political life

Jagannath Bhattacharya was an elected member of the Legislative Assembly in Shibpur [1] of the state of West Bengal in India, under the political party of AIFB. He was active from 2006 to 2011. [4]

The first vernacular Bengali medium school of Howrah district, Santragachi Minor School, that was originally founded by Kedarnath Bhattacharya in 1857, was upgraded to Santragachi Kedarnath Institution in 1925. Prof. Ashutosh Mukherjee, the second Indian Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calcutta laid the foundation stone in 1920.
