Jagdish Lal Raj Soni is a well known craftperson from Pratapgarh in Rajasthan state in India. He was awarded Shilp Guru Award in 2002 for Thewa art.

Pratapgarh, is a town in Rajasthan, India. It is the district headquarters of Pratapgarh district the newest district of Rajasthan. Famous for its Thewa art, the city is surrounded by tribal villages. It is famous for its edible jiralun and hing.

He undertook a course in Design from London University in 1968.

In 1970 he got a Merit Certificate for his work. In 1977 he received the National Award. He also received the Rajasthan Samman Award. He received Kala Mani Puraskar and Umed Bhawan Jubilee Award in Jodhpur, as well as the award from INTACH, Delhi.

Jagdish Lal has demonstrated his art in Asia Handicrafts Fair in Japan, Ritteberg Museum in Zurich and Ethnographic Museum in Geneva.

Samir Soni is an Indian film and television actor, director and a former fashion model. Soni made his debut in the Hindi serial Samandar based on Navy officers. In 1996, he appeared as Ashok Mathur in Doordarshan's A Mouthful Of Sky. He made his film debut in China Gate (1998), which was followed by cameo appearances. In 23rd Surajkund Crafts Mela. Mohan Lal Chaturbhuj of Rajasthan was also awarded the Kalamani for his works in terracotta. He has participated in promoting this traditional art in various countries like Spain, USA and Australia. The Government of India awarded him the civilian honour of Padma Shri in 2012.

Ajmer Jain temple building in India

The Ajmer Jain temple, also known as Soniji Ki Nasiyan, is an architecturally rich Jain temple. It was built in the late nineteenth century. The main chamber, known as the Swarna Nagari "City of Gold", has several gold-plated wooden figures, depicting several figures in the Jain religion. Soni, who is a cancer survivor, was honoured by the Government of India in 2015 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award.
