Jago & Litefoot is a Big Finish Productions audio drama based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who . It stars Christopher Benjamin and Trevor Baxter as Henry Gordon Jago and Professor George Litefoot, their characters from the 1977 TV story The Talons of Weng-Chiang . [1] The Mahogany Murderers was an entry in the Companion Chronicles range of audio plays and effectively acted as a pilot for this series. [2] Justin Richards is the script editor.

Contents

Thirteen series were released between 2010 and 2017, along with a handful of special releases and, in 2021, a fourteenth series adapting episodes originally planned before Baxter's death. Each series consists of a box set of 4 hour-long plays. [2] Between the fourth and fifth series, the duo travelled with the Doctor (Colin Baker) for a pair of adventures, Voyage to Venus and Voyage to the New World, as single-disc releases. Additionally, a pair of Short Trips were released in March & April 2017 called "The Jago & Lightfoot Revival" (featuring the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors); while they also reunited with the Fourth Doctor for The Justice of Jalxar, The Beast of Kravenos and the Sixth Doctor in Stage Fright .

Series 1 comprised 4 episodes and was released in 2010. It featured the return of Sgt Quick (previously PC Quick), who appeared in The Talons of Weng-Chiang , and the character of Lisa Bowerman's Ellie Higson, a barmaid acquaintance of the pair who had previously featured in The Mahogany Murderers . The series's main antagonist was the mysterious Dr. Tulp, who was previously also mentioned in The Mahogany Murderers.

Series 3 was released in June 2011, and featured the return of Louise Jameson's Leela. The season was described by director Lisa Bowerman as resembling a Victorian version of Sapphire and Steel. The Voyages of Jago & Litefoot (2012)

Following the fourth series, these two one-off stories depicted Jago and Litefoot taking a couple of trips in the TARDIS with the Sixth Doctor. The stories concluded with the Doctor apparently returning the two to the Red Tavern before departing to investigate a temporal surge that threw the TARDIS off-course, only for Jago and Litefoot to learn after the Doctor's departure that he has actually left them in 1968 rather than their home time.

The Talons of Weng-Chiang is the sixth and final serial of the 14th season of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, which was first broadcast in six weekly parts on BBC1 from 26 February to 2 April 1977. In the serial, which is set in 19th-century London, the 51st century criminal Magnus Greel travels to the city and poses as an ancient Chinese god to find his missing time machine.

Lisa Bowerman is a British actress who portrayed Sandra Mute, the paramedic, in the BBC One medical drama Casualty, in the first two series, and as Professor Bernice Summerfield in many Doctor Who Big Finish Productions' audio plays, as well as both directing and voicing other roles.

Fourth Doctor Fictional character from Doctor Who

The Fourth Doctor is an incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who. He is portrayed by Tom Baker.

Christopher Benjamin is an English actor with many stage and television credits since the 1960s. His television roles include three appearances in Doctor Who, portraying Sir Keith Gold in Inferno (1970), Henry Gordon Jago in The Talons of Weng-Chiang (1977) and Colonel Hugh Curbishley in The Unicorn and the Wasp (2008). He also provided the voice of Rowf in the animated film The Plague Dogs (1982).

Trevor Baxter was a British actor and playwright. He was educated at Dulwich College and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

<i>All-Consuming Fire</i>

All-Consuming Fire is an original novel written by Andy Lane and based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. The novel is a crossover with Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional detective Sherlock Holmes featuring the characters of both Holmes and Doctor Watson, and also with H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. A prelude to the novel, also penned by Lane, appeared in Doctor Who Magazine issue 213.

The Mahogany Murderers is a Big Finish Productions audiobook based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who.

Henry Gordon Jago is a character who appeared in the 1977 Doctor Who television serial, The Talons of Weng-Chiang. He was played by Christopher Benjamin. He worked so well with Trevor Baxter's character, Professor George Litefoot, the production team briefly considered giving them their own spin-off series. In 2009 they reprised their roles for the Big Finish Productions audio drama, The Mahogany Murderers. This led to their own audio series, Jago & Litefoot.

The fourteenth season of British science fiction television series Doctor Who began on 4 September 1976 with The Masque of Mandragora, and ended with The Talons of Weng-Chiang.

The Fourth Doctor Boxset is a collection of two audio dramas by Big Finish Productions based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. The stories were written by Robert Banks Stewart and former Doctor Who producer Philip Hinchcliffe, who had previously worked together on two stories of the thirteenth season of the series, Terror of the Zygons and The Seeds of Doom.

"Whose Doctor Who" is a 60-minute television documentary, which was first transmitted on Sunday, 3 April 1977, on BBC 2. It was produced and directed by Tony Cash; Bill Morton was Executive Producer. Melvyn Bragg presented the episode.

The Butcher of Brisbane is a Big Finish Productions audio drama based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It's the second sequel to the 1977 story The Talons of Weng-Chiang following after The Shadow of Weng-Chiang.
