Jahangir Harun SGP, ndc, afwc, psc is a retired major general in the Bangladesh Army. He was GOC of 33rd Infantry Division & Area Commander, Cumilla Area. [1] Prior to join there, he served as Commandant of Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT).

Career

He was Commission with 20th BMA Long Course on 23 June 1989. [2] Harun served as Commander of PGR when he was Brigadier General. [3] During Corona Pandemic he played a pivotal role to control to raise awareness about coronavirus. [4] Under his supervision, 33 Infantry Division celebrated Armed Forces day by awarded one thousand freedom fighters and their families. [5] He also serves at Chairman of Governing body including Mainamati Golf and Country Club.

The Bangladesh Army is the land warfare branch and the largest component of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The Eastern Command of the Pakistan Army was a corps-sized military formation headed by a lieutenant-general, who was designated the Eastern Command Commander. After the partition of India by United Kingdom, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was divided into two territories separated by 1,000 miles (1,600 km). Most of the assets of the Pakistan armed forces were stationed in West Pakistan; the role of the Pakistan armed forces in East Pakistan was to hold that part of the country until the Pakistani forces defeated India in the west. The Pakistan Army created the Eastern Command, with one commander in the rank of Lieutenant General responsible for the command. The armed forces, had drawn up a plan to defend Dhaka by concentrating all their forces along the Dhaka Bowl.

General (Retd.) Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan is a retired Bangladeshi general who served as the Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army from 2012 to 2015. He took office at 25 June 2012 and retired on 25 June 2015. He joined Bangladesh Military Academy on 19 March 1976 and was commissioned on 30 November 1976 in the Corps of Infantry. Md Mainur Rahman SUP, awc, psc is a major general in the Bangladesh Army& General officer commanding (GOC) of 33 Infantry division. Before serving as GOC of 33 Infantry Division, he was the Director of WE&S Directorate, Army Headquarters.
