Jahangir Harun SGP, ndc, afwc, psc is a retired major general in the Bangladesh Army. He was GOC of 33rd Infantry Division & Area Commander, Cumilla Area. [1] Prior to join there, he served as Commandant of Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT).

Career

He was Commission with 20th BMA Long Course on 23 June 1989. [2] Harun served as Commander of PGR when he was Brigadier General. [3] During Corona Pandemic he played a pivotal role to control to raise awareness about coronavirus. [4] Under his supervision, 33 Infantry Division celebrated Armed Forces day by awarded one thousand freedom fighters and their families. [5] He also serves at Chairman of Governing body including Mainamati Golf and Country Club.

The Bangladesh Army is the land warfare branch and the largest component of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The primary mission of the Army is to defend the land of Bangladesh from any external attack. The Eastern Command of the Pakistan Army was a corps-sized military formation headed by a lieutenant-general, who was designated the Commander Eastern Command. After the partition of India by United Kingdom, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was divided into two territories separated by 1,000 miles (1,600 km). Most of the assets of the Pakistan armed forces were stationed in West Pakistan; the role of the Pakistan armed forces in East Pakistan was to hold that part of the country until the Pakistani forces defeated India in the west. The Pakistan Army created the Eastern Command, with one commander in the rank of Lieutenant General responsible for the command. The armed forces, had drawn up a plan to defend Dhaka by concentrating all their forces along the Dhaka Bowl.

Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan SBP (BAR), psc is a retired Bangladeshi army officer who served as the Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army from 2012 to 2015. He took office of Army Chief at 25 June 2012 and retired on 25 June 2015. He joined Bangladesh Military Academy on 19 March 1976 and was commissioned on 30 November 1976 in the Infantry Regiment. Iqbal had a diversified and fine mix of all three types of appointment available in army. During his 39 years of service in the Bangladesh Army, He commanded three infantry battalions, an infantry brigade and three divisions. Muhammad Faizur Rahman SGP, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc is a major general in the Bangladesh Army and incumbent director general of Directorate-General of Forces Intelligence. He served as the 28th commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC). Prior to join here, he was GOC of the 66 Infantry Division, Bangladesh Army and area commander, Rangpur Area. He also served as the commandant of Army Security Unit of Bangladesh Army.

Muhammad Mainur Rahman SUP, awc, psc is a major general in the Bangladesh Army and the GOC 24th Infantry Division and area commander of Chittagong Area. Before that, he was general officer commanding (GOC) of 33 Infantry division. Before serving as GOC of 33 Infantry Division, he was the director of WE&S Directorate, Army Headquarters.
