Oakland Raiders
Grove was drafted in the second round (45th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders, through a pick that was acquired from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for Jon Gruden, where he played from 2004 to 2008. [2] After being the reserve center behind Adam Treu as a rookie, Grove split time with him as the starting center during the 2005 NFL season, in which the Raiders had a 4-12 won-lost record, then won the job the following year, the 7th starting center in Raider history, starting all 16 games, when Treu became his replacement for a 2-14 team. But in the 2007 NFL season, Jeremy Newberry became the starting center, as Grove started only two games for the 4-12 team. He got his job back in the 2008 NFL season, starting in 12 games, though the team's fortune stayed poor with a 5-11 record. His Oakland tenure was hampered by injuries, [3] and he only played in more than 10 games twice during his six seasons in Oakland. [4]
Miami Dolphins
On March 2, 2009, Grove signed a five-year, $29 million ($14.5 million guaranteed) free agent contract with the Miami Dolphins. The previous starting center for the Dolphins, Samson Satele, was traded to Grove's old team, the Raiders. Grove suffered through another injury plagued year, playing in 12 games, starting 10 of them. In the 2010 preseason, he suffered from nagging knee and shoulder injuries, and was cut by the Dolphins less than a year after signing his lucrative free agent contract [5] in favor of Joe Berger. He reportedly worked out for the Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions, and New England Patriots, but did not sign with another team. [6]

Joseph David Berger is a former American football guard in the National Football League (NFL) for the Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Michigan Tech.
Adam R. Treu is an American former professional football player who was a center for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, joining as a walk-on after playing at Pius X High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. He won back-to-back national championships with the Cornhuskers in 1994 and 1995 playing left tackle and performing all the long snapping duties. He was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft.
Barret Glenn Robbins is an American former professional football player who was a center for nine seasons with the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for the TCU Horned Frogs, he was taken by the Raiders in the second round of the 1995 NFL Draft. He was elected to the Pro Bowl in 2002. He was the leader of the Raiders offensive line that led them to Super Bowl XXXVII.
Kevin Darnell Vickerson is a former American football defensive end. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Michigan State.
Eric Denaud Green is a former American football cornerback. He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Virginia Tech.
Samson H. Satele is a former American football center. He played college football at Hawaii and was drafted in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.
Brandon Lee Frye is a former American football offensive tackle. He was selected by the Houston Texans in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at Virginia Tech.
Justin Daniel Walton is a former American football center. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft and has also played for the Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, and New York Giants. He played college football at Baylor.
Edward Kai Wang is a former American football offensive tackle. He played college football at Virginia Tech and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the 2010 NFL Draft. Wang was the first full-blooded Chinese player to both be drafted and to play in the NFL.
Stefen David Wisniewski is a former American football guard and center. He was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Penn State. He also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Logan Lamont Thomas Sr. is an American football tight end who is a free agent. He was the starting quarterback while playing college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies in the early 2010s, where he finished as the school's all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns before being selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft.
Bruce Pernell Irvin Jr. is an American football linebacker for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round with the 15th overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft. Irvin won Super Bowl XLVIII over the Denver Broncos, and also played in Super Bowl XLIX where he became the first player ever to be ejected from a Super Bowl. He played college football at West Virginia.
Hroniss Grasu is an American professional football player who is a center for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the University of Oregon, and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft.
Menelik Watson is an English former professional American football offensive tackle. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played college football at Florida State.
Justin Jamaal Ellis is an American football nose tackle who is a free agent. He was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft. He played college football at Louisiana Tech.
Kendall Christopher Fuller is an American football cornerback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Virginia Tech and was selected by the Washington Redskins in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft. Fuller also played for the Kansas City Chiefs, recording a game-sealing interception in Super Bowl LIV.
