During eight seasons at English club Manchester United, he captained the club to victory in the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final to complete the Treble. He also played with the Danish national team, with whom he won the UEFA Euro 1992.

With Rangers, he won four Scottish championships. Hansen played seven games and scored three goals for the Denmark national football team, and was a part of the Denmark team at the 1920 Summer Olympics. As a coach, he managed a number of Danish teams and won the Danish championship with AB.
Arvo Heino Raudanma Hansen is a Danish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played for Danish club Slagelse B&I, as well as German clubs FC St. Pauli and SC Preußen Münster in the 2. Bundesliga. He made 31 appearances and scored five goals for the Denmark national team from 1972 to 1978, and represented Denmark at the 1972 Summer Olympics football tournament
