Jalur Tiga or JATI (Malay for "Three Stripes") is a non-profit organisation (NGO) that was formed by Datuk Hasan Mohd Ali, the ex-Selangor State Commissioner of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) after his dismissal from the party and the ex-Selangor State EXCO in January 2012. JATI objectives focus on defending the Islam religion, Malay dominance and Malay Rulers. JATI was officially formed on 21 February 2012 and aim to work together with Perkasa, another conservative, extreme-right, ethnic Malay NGO, led by its president Ibrahim Ali and other NGOs to be a 'third force' to balance the power of Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat in facing the 2013 Malaysian general election. Politics of Malaysia takes place in the framework of a federal representative democratic constitutional monarchy, in which the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is head of state and the Prime Minister of Malaysia is the head of government. Executive power is exercised by the federal government and the 13 state governments. Legislative power is vested in the federal parliament and the 13 state assemblies. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature, though the executive maintains a certain level of influence in the appointment of judges to the courts.

Kolej Islam Sultan Alam Shah is an Islamic boarding school in Klang, Selangor. It was bestowed the title Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi in 2010 by the Ministry Of Education. A by-election was held for the Dewan Rakyat seat of Rompin, Pahang in Malaysia on 5 May following the nomination day on 22 April 2015. The seat fell vacant after member of parliament Jamaluddin Jarjis, from Barisan Nasional died in a helicopter crash in Semenyih, Selangor. Jamaluddin Jarjis won the seat with a majority of 15,114 votes in the general elections in 2013, beating Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS)'s Mohd Nuridah Salleh.

The Malaysian United Indigenous Party, abbreviated BERSATU or PPBM, is a nationalist political party in Malaysia. This political party was preceded by the United Indigenous Association of Malaysia. It is a major component party of the ruling Perikatan Nasional coalition which was formed to replace the Pakatan Harapan-coalition government of which it was a member. BERSATU Party was approved and fully registered on January 14, 2017 by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) and the use of the BERSATU Logo was authorized by the Malaysian Election Commission (SPR). The party holds the Prime Ministerial position as well as the majority of positions in the cabinet. The party's founding members came from the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and Barisan Nasional rebel group Gabungan Ketua Cawangan Malaysia on 2016.

The 2020–21 Malaysian political crisis is an ongoing political crisis in Malaysia. It has been caused by Members of Parliament (MPs) changing party support, leading to the loss of parliamentary majority, the collapse of two successive coalition governments and resignation of two Prime Ministers in less than 18 months. In February 2020, developments commonly nicknamed the Sheraton Move saw the ousting of the elected Pakatan Harapan government and the resignation of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, after 22 months in power. They were replaced with the Perikatan Nasional government under Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. Political instability continued after this change throughout 2020 and into 2021, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This culminated in the resignation of Muhyiddin and his cabinet in August 2021 after 17 months in power. Ismail Sabri Yaakob was appointed Prime Minister a few days later.
The National Alliance is a political coalition composed of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), Homeland Solidarity Party, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and later Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (GERAKAN). The establishment of this party was induced by the Muhyiddin cabinet on 10 March 2020. This coalition previously preceded by the Malaysian Party Alliance Association or also known as the Persatuan Perikatan Parti Malaysia (PPPM). This party later was legalised and confirmed by Registrar of Society (RoS) as a 'political coalition party' known as Perikatan Nasional (National Alliance). As of 13 August 2021, Perikatan Nasional controls 50 seats, with support of another 4 independent MPs. The coalition was the ruling government of Malaysia from March 2020 to August 2021.
Datuk Seri Utama Haji Sulaiman bin Md Ali is a Malaysian politician who has served as the 12th and 13th Chief Minister of Melaka since March 2020 and Member of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Lendu since May 2013. He served as the Deputy Member of the Melaka State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Chief Minister and former Member Idris Haron from May 2013 to the collapse of the BN state administration in May 2018. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the federal and state ruling BN coalition which is aligned with another federal and state ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition at both the federal and state levels. On 4 October 2021, former Chief Minister of Melaka and Sungai Udang MLA Idris Haron and three other MLAs declared loss of confidence and support for him as Chief Minister and claimed that the state govermment has collapsed. However, the state government will only collapse when the chief minister resigns or loses the vote of a motion of confidence in the state legislative assembly. Following this, the Melaka State Legislative Assembly was dissolved the same day following his loss of majority support in the assembly and his state government stayed in power in caretaker capacity before the next government was formed after the 2021 Melaka state election on 20 November 2021. In the election, Barisan Nasional (BN) won 21 out of 28 state seats and therefore a two-thirds majority in the assembly, he remained as chief minister in the new government. The next day, Sulaiman was sworn in as chief minister.
The Homeland Fighters' Party is a political party of Malaysia, formed in August 2020 by the former 4th and 7th Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad against the ruling Perikatan Nasional coalition led by Former 8th Malaysian Prime Minister and president of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. PEJUANG Party was approved and fully registered in 8 July 2021 by the Registration of Societies (ROS) and the use of the PEJUANG logo was authorized by the Malaysian Election Commission (SPR). Tun Mahathir Mohamad, The Chairman of PEJUANG Party has received approval letters from Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin and the Registrar of Societies (ROS) in 8 July 2021.
The President of the United Malays National Organisation or President of UMNO is the highest position of the largest and oldest party in Malaysia. Since 30 June 2018, the office has been held by Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who succeeded Najib Razak.
