Hampshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Hampshire. Hampshire teams formed by earlier organisations,principally the Hambledon Club,always had first-class status and the same applied to the county club when it was founded in 1863. Because of poor performances for several seasons until 1885,Hampshire then lost its status for nine seasons until it was invited into the County Championship in 1895,since when the team have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. Hampshire originally played at the Antelope Ground,Southampton until 1885 when they relocated to the County Ground,Southampton until 2000,before moving to the purpose-built Rose Bowl in West End,which is in the Borough of Eastleigh on the north east outskirts of Southampton. The club has twice won the County Championship,in the 1961 and 1973 seasons.
Dominic Gerald Cork is a former English county and international cricketer. Cork was a right-handed lower-order batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium,and was renowned for his swing and seam control. In 1995,he took the best figures for an England bowler on Test debut,with 7 for 43 in the second innings against the West Indies.
Christopher Timothy Tremlett is a former English cricketer who played international cricket for England and domestically for Hampshire and Surrey. He was a 6 feet 7 inches (2.01 m) tall fast-medium bowler able to extract bounce on most surfaces. Tremlett started his playing career with Hampshire in 2000 and was awarded his county cap in 2004. He made his One Day International debut in 2005,and two years later played his first Test. Tremlett played three Tests in 2007 before injury interrupted.

He attended Yateley School across the county border at Yateley in Hampshire. Making his debut at the professional level for the Hampshire Cricket Board in 2001,he spent nine years playing for Hampshire,before being released by the county after the 2010 season. He is now playing club cricket for Wimbledon CC in the Surrey Championship Premier League whilst working as a financial planner at St James's Place Wealth Management.
David Andrew Griffiths is an English former cricketer who played at first-class level for Hampshire and Kent County Cricket Clubs in a professional playing career which spanned from 2006 to 2016. Playing as a right-arm fast bowler,he took over 100 wickets in first-class cricket.
James Andrew Tomlinson is an English former cricketer. A left-arm medium pace bowler,capable of producing swing at a brisk pace,Tomlinson first appeared in senior cricket for the Hampshire Cricket Board in List A cricket in the 2000 NatWest Trophy. He first appeared for Hampshire in first-class cricket in 2002,at this stage of career he had to work his cricket career around his studies at Cardiff University. In 2003 he was Hampshire's recipient of the NBC Denis Compton Award. His early career with Hampshire was beset by injury,which limited his appearances. By 2008,Tomlinson had established himself in the Hampshire team,mostly as a specialist first-class player. It was in this season that he became the first Hampshire bowler since Malcolm Marshall to end the season as the leading wicket taker in the County Championship,finishing with 67 wickets.
Michael Alexander Carberry is an English former professional cricketer who most recently played for Leicestershire County Cricket Club. Carberry is a left-handed opening batsman who bowls occasional right-arm off breaks.
John Daniel Francis is an English former first-class cricketer who played county cricket at first-class level for Hampshire and Somerset as a batsman.

Danny Richard Briggs is an English cricketer who currently plays for Warwickshire County Cricket Club,previously playing for Hampshire County Cricket Club and Sussex County Cricket Club. Briggs is a right-handed batsman who bowls slow left-arm orthodox. He was born at Newport on the Isle of Wight and was educated on the island at Carisbrooke High School. Briggs is the first international player to be born on the Isle of Wight. Briggs made his debut for Hampshire County Cricket Club aged 18 in 2009,since his debut he has seen success in first-class and Twenty20 cricket. In 2011,he became the youngest English spin bowler to take 100 first-class wickets since Derek Underwood. He made his full international debut for England on 21 February 2012 against Pakistan in the fourth One Day International at the DSC Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
James Noel Bruce Bovill is an English former cricketer who played first-class cricket predominantly for Hampshire from 1993 to 1997.
Steven John Malone is an English former first-class cricketer and cricket umpire. A journeyman county cricketer,he played at first-class level for Essex,Hampshire,and Glamorgan. He played predominantly for Hampshire as a right-arm fast-medium bowler,taking 103 wickets from 46 first-class matches and 99 wickets from 65 matches List A one-day matches. After the end of his first-class career,he played Minor Counties Cricket and later became a first-class umpire.
Somerset County Cricket Club competed in four domestic competitions during the 2009 English cricket season:the first division of the County Championship,the Friends Provident Trophy,the first division of the NatWest Pro40 League and the Twenty20 Cup. Through their performance in the Twenty20 Cup,the team qualified for the Champions League Twenty20. They enjoyed a successful season,but fell short of winning any competitions,prompting Director of Cricket Brian Rose to say "We've had enough of being cricket's nearly men."
Ruel Marlon Ricardo Brathwaite is a Barbadian cricketer. Brathwaite is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm fast-medium. He was born in Bridgetown.
