James Thomas Anthony Bruce (born 17 December 1979 in Hammersmith) is an English cricketer. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who is left-eye dominant,and a right-handed batsman.
James bowled a five-wicket maiden as a school boy at Farleigh School and was in the 1st XI at Eton for several years before representing Durham UCCE and playing minor county cricket for Cumberland. His exceptional control and cricket brain attracted Hampshire to sign him in 2002. Since joining Bruce spent successive winters in Australia with the Balmain Tigers in Sydney 2002-2003 and with South Perth C.C. from 2003 to 2005. Having had limited opportunities thus far to shine,he played in four first-class matches in the year 2005. He was in the Hampshire squad which won the C&G Trophy,and which finished runners-up in Division One of the Frizell County Championship. Enthused with the new responsibility of taking the new ball for Hampshire in 2006,Bruce performed brilliantly in the early stages of the season,taking a career best 5–43 against champions Nottinghamshire at the Rose Bowl in June 2006. He impressed further with a destructive opening spell of 7-2-14-3 against the touring West Indies 'A' side in August 2006. Hampshire awarded him his county cap at the end of the 2006 season and he was also mentioned as Cricinfo's 'Rising Star' for his county.
Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton,both former England captains,recently stated on Sky Sports that if England were to pick a Hampshire bowler for the England Academy tour to Bangladesh it should have been James Bruce and not Chris Tremlett,further evidence of his rising stock.
James has let it be known that his worst experience on the cricket field was having his box split clean in half whilst facing Australian fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz.
James announced his retirement from the game on 9 February 2008,to pursue a job in the city of London. [1]

Lee was the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the T20 format of the game which he did in 2007 ICC World Twenty20 in the inaugural tournament against Bangladesh,subsequently being the first bowler to do so at an ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Lee was also the first Australian bowler to take a hat-trick at a Cricket World Cup which he did in the 2003 Cricket World Cup Super Match game against Kenya.
Shane Edward Bond is a New Zealand cricket coach and former cricketer and present bowling coach of Rajasthan Royals,described as "New Zealand's best fast bowler since Sir Richard Hadlee",and often among the greatest fast bowlers of his era. He represented New Zealand in Test,ODI and Twenty20 International cricket and played for Canterbury in New Zealand domestic cricket and Warwickshire in English domestic cricket. Matthew James Hoggard,is a former English cricketer,who played international cricket for England cricket team from 2000 to 2008,playing both Test cricket and One Day Internationals. The 6' 2" Hoggard was a right arm fast-medium bowler and right-handed batsman.
Hampshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Hampshire. Hampshire teams formed by earlier organisations,principally the Hambledon Club,always had first-class status and the same applied to the county club when it was founded in 1863. He made his One Day International debut in 2005,and two years later played his first Test. Tremlett played three Tests in 2007 before injury interrupted.
Adrian Dimitri Mascarenhas is a former English cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler,he played internationally for England,as well as domestically for Hampshire. He holds the record for most runs in an over in a One Day International for England,with 30,scored off Yuvraj Singh of India on 5 September 2007. He was the bowling coach for both Otago Volts and the New Zealand national cricket team. He stood down after the 2016 summer for family reasons,which coincided with the retirements of the McCullum Brothers.

Geoffrey Merton Griffin was a Test cricketer who toured England with the South African cricket team in 1960,appearing in two Test matches. A right-arm,fast bowler and lower order batsman,his selection for the tour was controversial,because of his suspect bowling action –some of his deliveries were judged to be thrown rather than bowled. The core of his problem was that,due to a childhood accident,he was unable to fully straighten his right arm.
Michael John Lumb is a former South African-born English cricketer,who played for Yorkshire,Hampshire,and Nottinghamshire at county level and England in Twenty20 International cricket and One Day International cricket. Born and raised in South Africa,Lumb is a left-handed opening batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. He became only the second cricketer after Dennis Amiss to score a century on ODI debut for England and ninth player overall to do so. Lumb was a member of the England team that won the 2010 ICC World Twenty20.
Graham Onions is an English former cricketer. He played for Durham,Lancashire and England as a right arm fast-medium bowler and a right-hand tail-end batsman. After a successful start to the 2009 cricket season,Onions was selected to face the West Indies in Test cricket,and following success in the series,was retained for the 2009 Ashes series. In April 2010,Wisden Cricketers' Almanack named him as one of its five cricketers of the year for 2009. A back injury in March 2010 prevented Onions from playing cricket until 2011. He returned to competitive cricket that season,taking 50 wickets in the County Championship,and towards the end of the year was called up to England's Test squad. However,in September 2020,Onions announced his retirement from cricket after his back injury returned.
Benjamin William Hilfenhaus is an Australian former professional cricketer who played for Tasmania in Australian domestic cricket and for the Australia national cricket team. He is right-arm fast-medium bowler known for his ability to swing the ball. Hilfenhaus plays club cricket for Tasmania University Cricket Club. He made his first-class cricket debut in the 2005/06 season and his haul of 39 wickets was a record for someone playing their first season for Tasmania. Before he was given a full-time contract for 2006/07,he worked as a bricklayer as well as playing cricket. He has best bowling figures of 7/58 in first-class cricket,achieved in his first season for Tasmania. During his time with Australia,Hilfenhaus won the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy.
Peter Matthew Siddle is an Australian cricketer. He is a specialist right-arm fast-medium bowler who currently plays for Victoria in first-class and List A cricket,and for Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League. He has played Test cricket for Australia over an eight-year period from 2008 to 2016,before being recalled for the Test series against Pakistan in 2018. Peter Siddle retired from International cricket in December 2019. During his time with Australia,Siddle won the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy.
