James Mazepa

Dr. James Peter Mazepa (born 1941) is an American philatelist who was appointed to the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 2015. Mazepa specialises in the philately of Poland and Mexico and is an internationally accredited philatelic judge. He received the Luff Award in 2010 from the American Philatelic Society. [1]

Mazepa was president of the Federación Interamericana de Filatelia from 2008 to 2014. [2]

Roll of Distinguished Philatelists

The Roll of Distinguished Philatelists (RDP) is a philatelic award of international scale, created by the Philatelic Congress of Great Britain in 1921. The Roll consists of three pieces of parchment to which the signatories add their names.

Major James Starr, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was one of the earliest philatelists who collected, studied, and wrote on, stamps of China.

William Russell Lane-Joynt Sport shooter, barrister, and philatelist

William Russell Lane-Joynt, born in Limerick, was an Irish barrister, philatelist and Olympic shooter. He founded the Irish Philatelic Society in Dublin and assisted the Duke of Leinster to form his collection which was bequeathed to the Dublin Museum of Science and Art. Lane-Joynt was one of only two Irish philatelists to be honoured by signing the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists.

James Henry Abbott was a British philatelist who was one of the "Fathers of Philately" entered on the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 1921.

Harvey Pirie British bacteriologist and philatelist (1878–1965)

Dr James Hunter Harvey Pirie FRSE FRCPE was a 20th-century Scottish medical doctor, philatelist, orchid-grower and bacteriologist. Pirie named the bacterial genus Listeria in honor of Joseph Lister and the Pirie Peninsula is named after him. Cape Mabel was named after his wife. In authorship he is known as J. H. H. Pirie.

Wade E. Saadi is an American philatelist who served as president of the American Philatelic Society from 2008 to 2013. Saadi signed the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 2010.

Dr. Ernest William Floyd was a British physician and philatelist who signed the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 1927.

James Thomas DeVoss was an American philatelist who was added to the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 1981.
