Robert William Trevor Key is an English former cricketer and cricket commentator who played international cricket in all formats for England and domestic cricket for Kent County Cricket Club. He is the current managing director of the England Cricket team.
Kent County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Kent. A club representing the county was first founded in 1842 but Kent teams have played top-class cricket since the early 18th century,and the club has always held first-class status. The current Kent County Cricket Club was formed on 6 December 1870 following the merger of two representative teams. Kent have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. The club's limited overs team is called the Kent Spitfires after the Supermarine Spitfire.
Michael James Di Venuto is an Australian cricket coach and former first-class cricketer who represented both Australia and Italy. The bulk of his first-class cricket career was spent playing for Tasmanian Tigers. After retiring from representative cricket in Australia,he continued playing for Durham County Cricket Club till July 2012,when he announced retirement from County Cricket. He has also previously played cricket in England for Derbyshire and Sussex. A left hand opening batsman,his form for Tasmania throughout the mid-1990s earned him a call up for the Australian national cricket team in the One Day International arena,although after nine games he was dropped. Like some of his contemporary Tasmanian teammates such as Jamie Cox,Dene Hills,and Shaun Young,Di Venuto can be considered unlucky to have not had a more successful international career,as he was playing at a time when the Australian national cricket team was highly dominant,and difficult to earn selection for. After retiring from Durham,he was appointed Australia's full-time batting coach by head coach Mickey Arthur,and was then head coach of Surrey from 2016 until 2020.
Christopher Charles Benham is an English cricketer. Benham is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break. He was born at Frimley,Surrey. He attended Yateley School across the county border at Yateley in Hampshire. Making his debut at the professional level for the Hampshire Cricket Board in 2001,he spent nine years playing for Hampshire,before being released by the county after the 2010 season. He is now playing club cricket for Wimbledon CC in the Surrey Championship Premier League whilst working as a financial planner at St James's Place Wealth Management.

Nicholas Richard Denis Compton is a South African-born English former Test and first-class cricketer who most recently played for Middlesex County Cricket Club. The grandson of Denis Compton,he represented England in 16 Test matches.
James Charles Hildreth is a former English professional cricketer who played for Somerset County Cricket Club. He attended Millfield School,Somerset. He is a right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium pace bowler. Hildreth represented England at all youth levels including the 2003–04 Under-19 World cup held in Bangladesh. He made his first-class debut in 2003 and became a regular member of the side from the start of the 2004 season. The James Hildreth Stand was opened by him at Somerset County Cricket Ground on 21 September 2022.
Herbert Tremenheere Hewett was an English amateur first-class cricketer who played for Somerset,captaining the county from 1889 to 1893,as well as Oxford University and the Marylebone Cricket Club. A battling left-handed opening batsman,Hewett could post a large score in a short time against even the best bowlers. Capable of hitting the ball powerfully,he combined an excellent eye with an unorthodox style to be regarded at his peak as one of England's finest batsmen.
When the First World War ended in November 1918,thousands of Australian servicemen were in Europe as members of the First Australian Imperial Force (AIF) and many remained until the spring of 1919. In England,a new first-class cricket season was planned,the first since 1914,and an idea that came to fruition was the formation of an Australian touring side made up of servicemen. Agreement was reached with the Australian Corps HQ in London,commanded by Field Marshal William Birdwood,1st Baron Birdwood,and the Australian Imperial Force Touring XI was formed,initially under the captaincy of pre-war Test player Charlie Kelleway. Kelleway departed after only six matches following a dispute about the fixtures list. A players' meeting elected future Test player Herbie Collins as team captain for the remainder of the tour,despite the fact that Collins' military rank was lance corporal and there were seven officers in the party. The bulk of the team remained intact for nearly nine months from May 1919,playing 33 matches in Great Britain,ten in South Africa on their way home and then another three in Australia itself before disbanding in February 1920. Of the 46 matches,39 are adjudged first-class and the team had only four defeats,all of these in England. The players lived on their army pay and all profits from gate money went to an AIF Sports Control Board.
Matthew John Banes is a former English professional cricketer. Banes played first-class cricket for Durham University and Kent County Cricket Club between 1999 and 2003. He batted right-handed and bowled right-arm medium pace.
Charles James Castell Rowe is a former first-class cricketer who played for Kent County Cricket Club and Glamorgan County Cricket Club between 1974 and 1984. Rowe was born in Hong Kong and played three times for the Hong Kong national cricket team. He was educated at The King's School,Canterbury.
The 1787 cricket season in England is noteworthy for the foundation of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) after the opening of Thomas Lord's first ground in the parish of Marylebone,north of London. MCC soon became the sport's governing body with the new ground as its feature venue. The first match known to have been played at Lord's was on Monday,21 May,between the White Conduit Club and a Middlesex county team. The first match known to involve a team representing MCC was against White Conduit on Monday,30 July. Including these two,reports and/or match scorecards have survived of numerous eleven-a-side matches played in 1787. Eleven are retrospectively,but unofficially,recognised as first-class.
James Moffat Allan was a Scottish cricketer. He was an all-rounder who bowled slow left-arm orthodox and batted right-handed and was described by his Wisden obituary as "the best all-rounder Scotland ever produced".
John Richard Mason,known as Jack Mason,was an English amateur cricketer who played first-class cricket for Kent County Cricket Club between 1893 and 1914,captaining the team between 1898 and 1902. He played for England in five Test matches on A. E. Stoddart's 1897–98 tour of Australia.
The County Ground,Beckenham is a cricket ground in Beckenham in the London Borough of Bromley. The ground is owned by Leander Sports and Leisure and is used as an outground by Kent County Cricket Club for First XI fixtures,as well as for other matches. As of 2019 the Kent Women cricket team played the majority of their matches at the ground.
William Robert Simon Gidman is an English former professional cricketer who most recently played for Kent County Cricket Club as an all-rounder. He previously played county cricket for Durham,Gloucestershire and Nottinghamshire and spent a period on loan at Kent towards the end of the 2016 season before joining the club permanently in October 2016.

Thomas William Maxwell Latham is a New Zealand international cricketer who is the vice captain of New Zealand cricket team in Test matches and One Day Internationals. He is the son of former cricketer Rod Latham. He has the most Test centuries for New Zealand opening batsmen. Latham was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship
Sean Robert Dickson is an English-South African cricketer who plays as a right-handed top-order batter. Dickson was born in Johannesburg and made his first-class debut in South Africa before signing for Kent in July 2015,qualifying as a non-overseas player due to his British mother and UK passport. Dickson scored 318 for Kent in July 2017,the county's second highest individual score and making him one of only two men to have made a triple-century for Kent.
