The Masters Tournament is one of the four men's major golf championships in professional golf. Scheduled for the first full week in April, the Masters is the first major golf tournament of the year. Unlike the other major tournaments, the Masters is always held at the same location: Augusta National Golf Club, a private course in the city of Augusta, Georgia.

García has won 36 international tournaments as a professional, most notably the 2008 Players Championship and the 2017 Masters Tournament. He won the 2018 U.S. Amateur and then became the first Norwegian to win on the PGA Tour and on the European Tour. Hovland picked up his second and third PGA Tour wins at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in autumn 2020 and 2021. His fourth win came in a playoff at the Memorial Tournament in June 2023.
