Jackson graduated from Wittenberg University [1] and George Washington University Law School. [2]

Career

Jackson was the first woman to serve as Franklin County Municipal Court judge [3] [4] and the first woman [5] [6] and first African-American [2] as Columbus city attorney. [7] She was president of United Way of Central Ohio. [5] She chaired the Columbus Civilian Police Review Board. [8] [9] [10]

Jennifer Lee Brunner is an American attorney, politician and judge. She is currently an associate justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, a position to which she was elected after serving as a judge on the Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals. A member of the Democratic Party, Brunner also served one term as Ohio Secretary of State from 2007 to 2011 and unsuccessfully ran for the U.S. Senate in 2010. Prior to being elected Secretary of State, Brunner worked in the Ohio Secretary of State's Office and served as a County Judge in Franklin County, Ohio.

Sandra R. Williams is a former Democratic member of the Ohio Senate who served the 21st district from 2015 to 2022. She also formerly served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2007 to 2014. Her district includes the eastern two-thirds of Cleveland, as well as the east-side suburbs of Bratenahl, Cleveland Heights, Garfield Heights, Newburgh Heights, Shaker Heights and University Heights.

The George Floyd protests were a series of protests and civil disturbances that initially started in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area of Minnesota, United States, before spreading nationwide. In Columbus, Ohio, unrest began on May 28, 2020, two days after incidents began in Minneapolis. The events were a reaction to the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) officer Derek Chauvin, who knelt on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes, asphyxiating him.

Priscilla R. Tyson is a former Columbus Councilwoman and is the longest-serving female councilmember in the Columbus City Council's history. She is the founding director for City Year Columbus. She also spearheaded the passage of Columbus' CROWN Act to end hair discrimination.
