Jani Kokko (born 1987) is a Finnish social-democratic politician. [1] [2] He was elected as a Member of Parliament in the 2023 Parliamentary elections with 4,890 votes from the constituency of Central Finland. [3]
Previously, he was a PhD researcher at the Department of History and Ethnology at the University of Jyväskylä. [4] He has been a councillor in Muurame Municipality since 2009 and is the 1st vice-chairman of the Muurame Municipal council. [5] He is also the Chairman of the Regional Council of Central Finland. Kokko lives in Muurame. [6]
Kokko's master's thesis The voice of the nation: The Inaugural Addresses of US Presidents as a Genre of Political Speech from George Washington to Barack Obama was accepted by the Department of History and Ethnology at the University of Jyväskylä in August 2012. [7] He worked on the 2020 US presidential election [8] and on the NATO membership process as a Yle expert. [9] Kokko was one of the persons responsible for drafting the citizens' initiative on Finland's accession to NATO. [10]
In December 2022, Kokko, as chairman of the regional council, interpreted that a person employed by a welfare district directly under the regional government could not serve on the regional government and that the four board members or colour guard should resign from the regional government. [11] However, the regional government decided in December 2022 that the persons could continue as members of the regional government indefinitely. [12]
Kokko is a member of the board of directors of the Central Finland First Aid and Shelter Home Association and the Federal Board of the Association of First Aid and Shelter Homes. [5]

Katri Briitta Ilona Kulmuni is a Finnish politician who served as the 35th deputy prime minister of Finland and the leader of the Centre Party between 2019 and 2020. A member of the Centre Party, she was a Member of Parliament from 2015 to 2024. In the 2024 European Parliament election, she was elected to the European Parliament.

The area contains mostly apartment houses that were built in the late 1970s. Pupuhuhta is one of the most multicultural neighborhoods in Jyväskylä. The population of the area was 2,731 in 2020.
Laura Huhtasaari is a Finnish politician and teacher. As a member of the Finns Party, she has represented Satakunta in the Parliament of Finland from April 2015 to July 2019. Minna Arve is a Finnish politician who serves as the mayor of Turku. Since August 2021 the post of the mayor became an elected office instead of a hired position. She represents the National Coalition Party.
Finland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom, with the song "Cha Cha Cha" performed by Käärijä. The Finnish broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle) organised the national final Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu2023 in order to select the Finnish entry for the contest. Seven entries were selected to compete in the national final on 25 February 2023, where the combination of votes from seven international jury groups and votes from the public selected the winner.
