Janne Kataja (born 5 April 1980 [1] ) is a Finnish entertainer. As well as working as a magician, he also works as a stand up comedian, an actor and a host. [2]
Kataja started his theatre career as a child assistant at the Riihimäki Theatre [2] and at the age of ten he continued his career as an actor at the Riihimäki Youth Theatre, where he has since worked extensively. Later, he has acted at the Riihimäki Theatre and also worked there as a chief of information and marketing. He has worked as a director in the Riihimäki Youth Theatre and a summer theatre. [3] During Easter from 1997 to 2000 Kataja acted as the Easter bunny Eko-Riksu, visiting schools, kindergartens and Easter events in Riihimäki and in a morning TV show. [3] [4] Janne Kataja worked as a member of the culture and leisure board of the city of Riihimäki from 2005 to 2008.
In 2007, Janne Kataja hosted the Idols Extra on Sub TV, in autumn 2007 and 2008 he hosted the Big Brother Extra and in 2011 he hosted the Idols Studio. He has appeared as the second host of the Hei me leivotaan! show in 2007. Janne Kataja has also developed the so-called "penguin dance".
In early 2009, Komediateatteri Arena started the show Spede ja Kumppanit, where Kataja plays the late Ere Kokkonen.
On 3 January 2011, Kataja started as the second host of the Aamun Radio show at Radio Nova. On television, he has hosted the Idols Studio [5] [6] and the entertainment show Teräspallit. His job at Radio Nova ended on 30 November 2011. [7] In the start of 2012, Kataja started as the host of Radio SuomiPOP [8] and has hosted the Tuntematon hieroja entertainment show on Jim in May 2012. In autumn 2012, Kataja was one of the three new judges on the talent show Talent Suomi .
Kataja was born in Kouvola, but when he was two weeks old, his family moved to Riihimäki. He studied for two years at the expression-oriented school Kallion luokio in Helsinki, but quit his studies because he already had enough profit work. In autumn 2000, he started studying as a theatre director at the Art Academy of the Turku University of Applied Sciences [3] He had not yet finished his master work in April 2007. [9] In autumn 2007, Kataja got engaged to his girlfriend Ulla. [10] They were married in May 2008. [11] Janne and Ulla have two daughters, born in 2008 and 2010. [12] In 2012 they filed for divorce but the application failed to pass. [13] [14]
Big Brother Suomi is the Finnish version of the reality television franchise Big Brother. The Finnish adaptation was broadcast on Sub in Finland from 2005 to 2014.
Jari Sarasvuo is the founder, chief owner and CEO of Trainers' House, a Finnish company that arranges training and lectures particularly for marketing topics.
Muodin huipulle is Finland's version of the American reality television series Project Runway. The show aired on Finland's MTV3 from 2009 to 2011. In February 2023, over a decade after its second season, the series returned for a third season with a new judging panel and mentor.
Lasse Mellberg, better known by his stage name Redrama, is a Finnish rapper. He made a breakthrough in 2003. Redrama, who performs primarily in English, but also in Swedish and Finnish was part of a hip-hop group Alien Allies which also included the Norwegian Paperboys and Madcon. Redrama won the English-language Finnish championship of rapping in 2001 and he also won the Finnish Grammy (Emma) award for The Best Hip Hop Album in 2005.
Pia Lamberg is a Finnish actress, fashion model and beauty pageant titleholder. She was crowned Miss Finland 2011 and later she represented Finland at Miss Universe 2011 pageant on September 12, 2011 in Brazil.
The fifth season of Finnish Idol premiered on February 3, 2011 on MTV3. Nina Tapio and Jone Nikula returned as judges, and Sami Pitkämö replaced Patric Sarin as a judge. Heikki Paasonen returned as the show's host, but his co-hosts from the previous season did not return as they were replaced by Niina Herala.
Presidential elections were held in Finland in January and February 2012. The first round took place on 22 January 2012 with advance voting between 11 and 17 January. Since no candidate received a majority of the vote, a second round was held on 5 February, with advance voting between 25 and 31 January. Sauli Niinistö was elected the President of Finland for a term from 1 March 2012 until 1 March 2018.
Jyrki is a Finnish music television program that aired on the MTV3 channel from 1995 to 2001. It was an afternoon program about popular music for youths. The idea for the program came from the Canadian MuchMusic program by the CHUM network, whose material Jyrki borrowed and cooperated with to improve the concept. Jyrki was produced by Funny-Films Oy.

Osmo Uolevi "Ossi" Harkimo was a Finnish cinematographer. During his career, he shot more than 40 films. He is best remembered as one of the four cinematographers of the Edvin Laine film The Unknown Soldier (1955), for which he received a Jussi Award. He received another Jussi Award for his work in the Matti Kassila film Sininen viikko (1954).
Tuubi is a Finnish television game show series. The series is shown on MTV3 and started on 7 March 2014. Its third and last season aired in 2017.
Ismo Mikael Leikola, sometimes known professionally as ISMO, is a Finnish stand-up comedian, musician, author, screenwriter, and YouTuber. Leikola made his United States debut in 2014, when he won "The Funniest Person in the World" competition organized by the comedy club Laugh Factory. In 2015, he made comedy series ISMO for Finnish television and moved to the United States. He gained more recognition after his appearance on the Conan talk show in 2018 and has since toured internationally. He has a YouTube channel with over 360,000 subscribers.
Sami Henrik Hedberg is a Finnish stand up comedian and actor. Hedberg became famous after winning the Get up, stand up competition on Sub TV in 2005. This victory caused him to become one of the most popular stand up comedians in Finland. Hedberg has his own company, The Showhouse OY, founded in 2005.
Roba is a Finnish police drama television series. The series follows the daily life of Helsinki Police Department's uniformed police unit located on the Pieni Roobertinkatu ("Roba") street. The series stars Kari Hietalahti, Aku Hirviniemi, Aarni Kivinen, Leena Pöysti, Riku Nieminen, and Tiina Lymi. Many of its episodes are directed by Joona Tena and Aleksi Mäkelä.
Laura Pauliina Malmivaara is a Finnish actress. Her acting career began in 1993 and includes dozens of roles in film and television productions, as well as stage appearances. In addition to acting, she has also worked as a singer, photographer, television host, blogger and model.
Masked Singer Suomi is a Finnish reality singing competition television series based on the Masked Singer franchise which originated from the South Korean version of the show King of Mask Singer. It premiered on MTV3 on 14 March 2020, and is hosted by Ilkka Uusivuori and the panelists are Janne Kataja, Jenni Kokander and Maria Veitola.
Game of Games Suomi is a Finnish version of the American game show Ellen's Game of Games. The show premiered in November 2021 on TV channel MTV3, and will be hosted by Aku Hirviniemi and Janne Kataja, with the show being first to have two official hosts.
Kiti Karoliina Kokkonen is a Finnish film and television actress, voice actress and writer. She has been the artistic director of Suomen Komediateatteri since February 2010. She is the daughter of film director Ere Kokkonen and actress Titta Jokinen.
