Mark Thomas Stoops is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at the University of Kentucky, a position he has held since the 2013 season. Stoops is the all-time winningest head coach in the history of the Kentucky Wildcats football program. He is also the longest tenured SEC football coach.
The 1979–80 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team represented the University of Michigan in intercollegiate college basketball during the 1979–80 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team played its home games in the Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and was a member of the Big Ten Conference. Under the direction of head coach Johnny Orr who was in his final year as coach, the team finished tied for sixth in the Big Ten Conference. The team earned an invitation to the 1980 National Invitation Tournament. The team was unranked the entire season in the Associated Press Top Twenty Poll, and it also ended the season unranked in the final UPI Coaches' Poll. The team defeated two of the six ranked teams it faced. Marty Bodnar earned third team Academic All-American honors. Bodnar and Mark Lozier served as team captains, while Mike McGee earned team MVP honors. John Garris set the School record for career blocked shot average with 1.09, which lasted until 1986 when Roy Tarpley ended his career with a 2.06 average. On January 26, 1980, McGee became the first Wolverine to play more than 50 minutes in a single game when he was on the floor for 54 minutes against the Northwestern Wildcats, surpassing Phil Hubbard's 1976 50-minute effort. Mark Bodnar became the first Michigan Wolverines player on record to total 13 assists in a game on December 13, 1980, against the Dayton Flyers. No Wolverine would surpass 13 assists in a game until Gary Grant did so on December 7, 1987. Thad Garner averaged of 36.3 minutes per game, which was a school record, beating Mike McGee who averaged 36.2. He would break his own record two years later.
Garrick Ladell McGee is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the wide receivers coach at Louisville. He was previously the quarterbacks coach at the University of Florida. McGee was the head football coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) from 2012 to 2013. He has served as the offensive coordinator at Northwestern University, the University of Arkansas, the University of Louisville, and the University of Illinois. McGee played college football as a quarterback at Arizona State University, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, and the University of Oklahoma.

They were members of the new West Division of the Big Ten Conference. They finished the season 5–7, 3–5 in Big Ten play to finish in a tie for fifth place in the West Division.

They were led by fourth-year head coach Chris Collins. They were members of the Big Ten Conference and played their home games at Welsh-Ryan Arena. They finished the season 24–12, 10–8 in Big Ten play to finish in a tie for fifth place. In the Big Ten tournament, they defeated Rutgers and Maryland before losing to Wisconsin in the semifinals. They received the school's first ever bid to the NCAA tournament as a No. 8 seed in the West region. In the First Round, they defeated No. 9-seeded Vanderbilt before losing to No. 1-seeded Gonzaga in the Second Round.

He played college basketball for the Northwestern Wildcats. He holds the Northwestern single-game, single-season, and career assist records. He was a 2017 All-Big Ten team second-team selection and led the 2016–17 Northwestern Wildcats to the first NCAA tournament in school history.
