In 2007, Eisener entered and won the Grindhouse fake trailer contest hosted by Robert Rodriguez and the SXSW Festival, [1] leading to a film of the same name being made a few years later: Hobo with a Shotgun . [2] In 2008, Eisener co-wrote and directed the Christmas slasher short film Treevenge . [3]
Eisener directed The ABCs of Death 's Y is for Youngbuck segment and V/H/S/2 's Alien Abduction Slumber Party segment. In 2017, he was the 2nd unit director on the Adam Wingard adaptation of Death Note and the editor on Goon: Last of the Enforcers .
Dark Side of the Ring premiered on Viceland on April 10, 2019 [4] and the series focuses on controversial subjects and events within the realm of professional wrestling. [5] Eisner serves as the series director, producer and creator alongside Evan Husney.
As of 2017, Eisener is in pre-production on a film, an adaptation of the comic New York City Outlaws. [6]
His next movie, Kids vs. Aliens , [7] is described as "aliens attacking a house party" [8] and has premiered at Fantastic Fest on September 23, 2022. [9]
In an interview with DIY magazine in 2011, Eisener cited Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, Walter Hill, and Brian Trenchard-Smith as influences. [10]

Grindhouse is a 2007 American double bill. It consists of two films, Planet Terror, a horror comedy written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, about a group of survivors who battle zombie-like creatures, and Death Proof, a slasher film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, about a murderous stuntman who kills young women with modified vehicles. The former stars Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez, Michael Biehn, Jeff Fahey, Josh Brolin, and Marley Shelton; the latter stars Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson, Vanessa Ferlito, Jordan Ladd, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Tracie Thoms, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Zoë Bell. Grindhouse pays homage to exploitation films of the 1970s, with its title deriving from the now-defunct theaters that would show such films. As part of its theatrical presentation, Grindhouse also features fictitious exploitation trailers directed by Rodriguez, Rob Zombie, Edgar Wright, Eli Roth, and Jason Eisener.

Rob Cotterill is a Canadian film producer and assistant director. As part of Yer Dead Productions with friend and director Jason Eisener, they created Treevenge (2008) and, along with John Davies, Hobo with a Shotgun (2011) after making a winning mock trailer for Grindhouse (2007). Cotterill has also done production work for Possessor (2020), Tin Can (2020), Kids vs. Aliens (2022), and Infinity Pool (2023).
