Javed Bhatti is a former cricketer who played first-class cricket for Bahawalpur in Pakistan from 1958 to 1975.

First-class cricket is an official classification of the highest-standard international or domestic matches in the sport of cricket. A first-class match is of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each although, in practice, a team might play only one innings or none at all.

Bahawalpur cricket team is a first-class cricket side in Pakistan, representing the city of Bahawalpur.

Probably born around 1940, Javed Bhatti had a long and successful career for Bahawalpur as a middle-order batsman and leg-spin bowler, often playing as captain. The highest of his eight centuries was 145 against Multan in 1971-72. [1] His two best bowling performances came within a few days of each other in 1962-63. He took 5 for 29 and 5 for 59 and made 109 (the only score above 45 in the match) against Multan, then took 6 for 71 against Lahore B. [2] [3]

Captain (cricket) member of a cricket team

The captain of a cricket team, often referred to as the skipper, is the appointed leader, having several additional roles and responsibilities over and above those of the other players. As in other sports, the captain is usually experienced and has good communication skills, and is likely to be one of the most regular members of the team, as the captain often has a say in team selection. Before the game the captains toss for innings. During the match the captain decides the team's batting order, who will bowl each over, and where each fielder will be positioned. While the captain has the final say, decisions are often collaborative. A captain's knowledge of the complexities of cricket strategy and tactics, and shrewdness in the field, may contribute significantly to the team's success.

Lahore teams, representing the city of Lahore, have competed in Pakistan's first-class cricket tournaments since 1958–59. They also compete in the national 50-over and Twenty-20 tournaments as the Lahore Lions.

He scored a quick 105, the only century of the match, for The Rest against Pakistan in 1967-68, but he never played for Pakistan. [4]
