Manorama (Tamil actress) Indian actress

Gopishantha, better known by her stage name Manorama, also called Aachi, was an Indian actress, playback singer and comedian who had appeared in many films and stage performances and several television series until 2015. She was a recipient of the Kalaimamani award. In 2002, Government of India awarded Manorama the Padma Shri for her contribution to the arts. C. Ponnaiyan is an Indian politician. He is one of the founding members of the Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party. He is the former member of the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly from Tiruchengode constituency in 1977, 1980, 1984 and 2001. He started his career as a lawyer. Attracted by the ideologies of Arignar Anna and Thanthai Periyar, he took to public life at an early age. Nattamai is a 1994 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. S. Ravikumar. It starred Sarath Kumar, Meena and Khusbhu. The film was released on 2 November 1994, during Diwali, and completed a 175-day run at the box office. It is considered to be one of the most popular Tamil films of the 1990s and in general. Suryagandhi (transl. Sunflower) is a 1973 Indian Tamil-language film, directed by Muktha Srinivasan. It stars Jayalalithaa in the lead role, opposite Muthuraman and the supporting cast included Savithri, Cho Ramaswamy, Moulee, CID Shakuntala and Manorama in the lead roles. J. Jayalalithaa Indian politician and actress, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (1948–2016)

Jayaram Jayalalithaa was an Indian politician and film actress who served six times as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu for fifteen years between 1991 and 2016. From 9 February 1989, she was the general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), a Dravidian party whose cadre revered her as their "Amma" (mother) and "Puratchi Thalaivi". Her critics in the media and the opposition accused her of fostering a personality cult and of demanding absolute loyalty from AIADMK legislators and ministers, who often publicly prostrated themselves before her.

Vivekanandan Krishnaveni Sasikala, also known by her married name Sasikala Natarajan, is an Indian businesswoman and former politician who served as the national president of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) from Tamil Nadu. She was a close aide of J. Jayalalithaa, the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, who headed the AIADMK from 1989 until her death in 2016. After Jayalalithaa's death, the party's general council elected her as the secretary general of AIADMK, but she was removed from the post and expelled from the party in September 2017. She is the aunt of T.T.V. Dhinakaran, together with whom she formed the Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam (AMMK) in 2018 after her expulsion. She was appointed as the president and Dhinakaran the general secretary.

Neenga Nalla Irukkanum is a 1992 Tamil-language film written and directed by Visu. It stars Nizhalgal Ravi and Bhanupriya in the lead with Visu, Chandrasekhar and Manorama forming the supporting cast. Produced by G. Venkateswaran under his banner G. V. Films, the film won the award for Best Film on Other Social Issues at the 40th National Film Awards. The film was the first to be sponsored by the Tamil Nadu Government and had Jayalalithaa, its Chief Minister then, in a brief appearance playing herself.

Yarukkum Vetkam Illai is a 1975 Tamil language film, directed by Cho Ramaswamy. It stars Jayalalithaa in the lead role, opposite Srikanth, supported by Cho Ramaswamy, Manorama and Sivakumar. This film was based on the book by the same name and later a play written by Cho Ramaswamy. It became a blockbuster on its release. The songs sung by Yesudas became popular. The lyrics of one of the song in the film praised the character played by Jayalalithaa as Puratchi Thalaivi, even before she entered into politics.

Fathima Babu is a South Indian actress, former newsreader and socialite based out of Chennai who hails from Puducherry. Born in a Muslim family, Fathima began her public career as a newsreader for more than 25 years with DD Podhigai, the Tamil version of Doordarshan news, and later worked for Jaya TV. She later converted to Hinduism for her husband. She subsequently moved on to work in television serials, films and theatre performances, operating in the Tamil and Malayalam languages.

Queen is an Indian Tamil-language period biographical drama streaming television series created by Reshma Ghatala. An adaptation of Anita Sivakumaran's novel of the same name, which is loosely based on the life of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, the script was written by Ghatala, with Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prasath Murugesan, jointly directing the series.
