Jayashree is an Indian actress who appeared in Tamil-language films in the 1980s. She was introduced by film director C. V. Sridhar in Thendrale Ennai Thodu , opposite Mohan, in 1985. [1] She started a career in technology in 2000, taking a break from acting after her marriage.

Career

Jayashree started her cinematic career with the 1985 Tamil filmThendrale Ennai Thodu, opposite Mohan. After getting married in 1988, she left the film industry to focus on her family, and later began a career in technology. She returned to acting with the 2010 film Kadhal 2 Kalyanam , though it was never released. On Christmas Day 2016, Jayashree's comeback film Manal Kayiru 2 was released internationally. [2] [3]

Personal life

Jayashree is the granddaughter of S. Jayalakshmi, singer and actress, and grandniece of musician and painter S. Rajam and musician and filmmaker S. Balachander, both her grandmother's brothers. She married Chandrasekhar, a banking professional, in 1988, and they settled in the United States. The couple have two sons. [4]

The film was released on 1 October 2004. The movie was remade in Kannada in 2020 as Shivarjuna starring his nephew Chiranjeevi Sarja. Kadhal 2 Kalyanam is an unreleased Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by newcomer Milind Rau that stars debutante Sathya, brother of Tamil actor Arya, and Divya Spandana, whilst, Jayashree, Nagendra Prasad, Kasthuri and Anuja Iyer play pivotal roles. Noted film critic Baradwaj Rangan had written the dialogues, while Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the film's score and soundtrack. The cinematography and editing were handled by P. S. Vinod and Leo John Paul, respectively. Pre-production works began by mid-2008, while the filming continued for over one year, being completed by July 2010. The film was jointly produced by Mirchi Movies and East Coast Entertainment, who are now not in the film-making business. Hence the movie remains unreleased.

Shahir Cethirakath, better known as Sathya, is an Indian actor, who has worked in Tamil language films. The brother of actor Arya, he first began filming for Kadhal 2 Kalyanam in 2008, though the film remains unreleased. After debuting in Puthagam (2013), he made a breakthrough in Jeeva Shankar's romantic drama film Amara Kaaviyam (2014).

Chennai 600028 II is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language sports comedy film co-produced, written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, who also produces the film along with S. P. B. Charan under Black Ticket Company and Capital Film Works. The film, which is a sequel to Chennai 600028 (2007), features Vaibhav in a prominent role in addition to several cast members from the earlier film including Jai, Shiva, Premji, Aravind Akash, Inigo Prabakaran and Nithin Sathya. The film's score and soundtrack is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film was released on 9 December 2016 to positive reviews and performed well at the box office.

Manal Kayiru 2 is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film directed by Madhan Kumar, starring S. Ve. Shekher, Jaishree, Ashwin Shekhar and Poorna. The film is a sequel to the 1982 film, Manal Kayiru and Shekher, Visu, and Kuriakose Ranga reprise their roles from the original. The film received negative reviews and was a box-office bomb. This is the last film for Visu before his death.

Ajay Raaj is an Indian actor and choreographer who appears in Tamil language films. While working as a dance choreographer, Ajay made his acting debut with Agathiyan's Selvam (2005), before appearing in Chennai 600028 (2007) and has since appeared regularly in films associated with director Venkat Prabhu and his team.

Azhagu is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language soap opera starring Shruthi Raj, VJ Sangeetha, Revathi and Thalaivasal Vijay. The show premiered on 20 November 2017 and apparently ended on 3 April 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. The show was produced by Vision Time India Pvt Ltd on Sun TV.

Sri Ramya is an Indian actress from Telugu and Tamil films. She made her acting debut by the film 1940 Lo Oka Gramam in 2007. She is a Winner of Nandi Special Jury Award at Nandi Awards in 2008.
