Jacob Ernest Washington (born June 16, 1981), who goes by the stage name Je'kob, is an American Christian hip hop and urban contemporary gospel musician. He has released one studio album, This Side of the Sky in 2014, while this charted on the Billboard magazine charts. He has released three extended plays, Faith, Hope, and Love in 2012, where the first two charted. His first compilation album, Faith Hope Love in 2013, was the unification of all three extended play's on one album.

Early life

Jacob Ernest Washington [1] was born in San Antonio, Texas to mother Paulette Gail Washington (née, Histo) and military father Ernest Rudolph Washington. [2] Due to his father's military service, Washington's family relocated several times, [3] during which each of the Washington children were born in different states. Washington's older brother, Joshua Joel Washington, was born in Kentucky in 1979. His younger sister, Rachael Rose Messini (née, Washington), was born in Hawaii in 1984. [1] [4] [3] The family finally settled in San Diego, California, where they are all currently located. Along with Washington's brother and sister, Washington formed the group Souljahz. Once older brother Joshua broke with the Souljahz, the remaining two renamed the group "The Washington Projects." [3]

Music career

Washington's solo music career started with the mixtape Pocketless Souls, released on October 10, 2011. [5] His next three projects were extended plays, Faith on July 31, 2012, [6] Hope on October 30, 2012, and Love on December 18, 2012; the first two charted on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart at Nos. 30 [7] and 42 [8] respectively. The first compilation album, Faith Hope Love, was released on February 12, 2013 through Save the City Records, a unification of all three previously-released extended plays. [9] [10] [11] Washington's second mixtape, Pocketless Souls II, was released on December 31, 2013. His first studio album, This Side of the Sky, was released on October 7, 2014 by Jekobmade Musiq. [12] This album would chart on the aforementioned chart at No. 25. [13]

She recorded the extended play Grace in 2012 with EMI Gospel which was later released in 2013 with Break Every Chain being the lead single. The EP reached No. 61 on the Billboard charts. At the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, Cobbs won the Grammy for Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance. She has also won 15 Stellar Awards, 3 Billboard Music Awards, and 9 Dove Awards.

Bishop Jason Albert Nelson is an American urban contemporary gospel artist and musician. He started his music career, in 2005, with the release of, I Shall Live, by Jaelyn Son Records. His second album, Place of Worship, was released in 2008. The first album with a major label, Shifting the Atmosphere, with Verity Records, was released in 2012, and this charted on two Billboard charts The Billboard 200 and the Top Gospel Albums. His second album with a major label, Jesus Revealed, with RCA Inspiration, was released in 2015, which this charted on the two aforementioned charts.

William David McDowell is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 2009, with the release of, As We Worship, by Entertainment One Music. This album would chart on three Billboard charts Gospel Albums, Independent Albums and Heatseekers Albums. His second album, Arise, was released in 2011 with Entertainment One. The album charted three Billboard charts again, this time The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums and Independent Albums. His third album, Withholding Nothing, was released in 2013, with Entertainment One. This album would chart on three charts The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums, and Independent Albums. He was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album, for his third album.

Deon Earl Maurice Kipping is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 2006, with the release of, Real Life. Real Worship., by Love & Life Records. His second album, I Just Want to Hear You, was released in 2012 with Verity Records and RCA Inspiration. This album would chart on two Billboard charts Billboard 200 and the Gospel Albums chart.

Anthony Jamar Brown is an American urban contemporary gospel artist and musician, whose background singers are called Group Therapy, stylized group therAPy. He started his music career, in 2012, with the release of, Anthony Brown & Group TherAPy, by Tyscot Records. This was a Billboard breakthrough release, with chartings The Billboard 200, the Top Gospel Albums, and the Independent Albums chart. He is the worship leader at First Baptist Church of Glenarden, located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, where he has served since June 2008.

Patrick Shevelle Love is an American gospel musician. He started his music career with the release of Wait on the Lord, released in 1994, by Crystal Rose Records. His second album, The Vision, was released by Crystal Rose Records in 1998. Both albums charted on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums charts.

Brent Ray Jones is an American gospel musician, pianist, and choir conductor. He started his music career, in 1999, with the release of Brent Jones & the T.P. Mobb with Holy Roller Entertainment, and this charted on three Billboard magazine charts. His second album, Beautiful, came out in 2002 with EMI GMG Records, which this charted three charts. The third album, The Ultimate Weekend, released in 2007 by Tyscot Records, and this placed on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. He released, Joy Comin', in 2014 with Echopark Records, and this placed upon the Gospel Albums chart.

Javen P. Campbell, who goes by the stage name JAVEN, is an American gospel musician and Christian R&B recording artist. His music career started in 2002, with the release, Javen, by Crowne Music Group. He would release two more albums, 2006's Believer with JCM Records, and 2008's Keeping the Faith with Melrose Records, yet these failed to place on any charts. The subsequent album, Worship in the Now, was released in 2013 by Tyscot Records. This album would be his breakthrough released upon the Billboard Gospel Albums and Heatseekers Albums charts.

Bryan & Katie Torwalt are an American Christian music husband and wife duo from Sacramento, California who started their music recording careers in 2006. The first album, Here On Earth, was released in 2011 by Jesus Culture Music alongside Kingsway Music. It became their Billboard magazine breakthrough release. Their second album, Kingdom Come, was released by the aforementioned labels in 2013, and performed even better on the Billboard magazine charts. They released a self-titled album in 2015, Bryan & Katie Torwalt, again with the two labels mentioned earlier, although this album did not place on any Billboard magazine charts.

We Are Leo is a creative music project from the Chicago area led by producer David Duffield — currently living and working on new music from his home studio on Lake Michigan’s waterfront. The project is currently a Duo, featuring singer Joseph Sanborn alongside David Duffield, and they collaborate on songwriting + studio work with a community of friends, most notably bassist Howard Lalgee and guitarist Matt Gainsford. Since 2011 We Are Leo has released 4 albums, 10 singles and has toured extensively appearing at most major Christian Festivals, Youth Conferences such as Acquire the Fire, and over 125 schools with faith-based non-profit Remedy Live. 

Mia Leanne Cherie Fieldes, is an Australian Christian musician. Her first album, There's a Reason, was released by herself in 2009. She signed with Provident Label Group, where their imprint Essential Worship, released her debut extended play, Ashes, in 2015.

Janice Patrice Gaines, is a Stellar Award and GMA Dove Award-nominated American urban contemporary gospel singer and songwriter. Her debut singles, "Wait On You" and "The Break-Up Song," were released as an extended play album on April 14, 2015. Her debut album, "Greatest Life Ever," released on Motown Gospel, was produced by GRAMMY Award-winning producer LaShawn Daniels. and debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.

Byron Manard Chambers, who goes by the stage name Mr. TalkBox, is an American Christian hip hop and Christian R&B musician who plays urban contemporary gospel, contemporary R&B, and funk. He has released three studio albums, My Testimony in 2004, The Remix Animated in 2008, and My Time in 2010.

John Lawrence Givens, known professionally as John Givez and sometimes Juan Dando, is an American musician, who plays hip hop, R&B, soul, funk and neo soul music. He is cousins with fellow rapper JGivens. John has released two studio albums, Four Seasons in 2013, Soul Rebel in 2015, while both releases charted on the Billboard magazine charts.

Marques Adams, who goes by the stage name Sevin, is an American Christian hip hop rapper who has officially retired from music in September 2018.
