Jean De Herdt (22 July 1923 - 5 January 2013) was a French judoka. [1] De Herdt was the first french student of famed Judo master Mikinosuke Kawaishi. [2] He was a two time gold European Judo Championships medalists. [3]

Felix De Smedt was Belgian judoka who is credited with introducing the sport to Belgium. In January 1941, he studied judo formally in Berlin, and was the first Belgian to have done so. On 20 May 1946, he founded the first Belgian judo club in Schelle near Boom in the province of Antwerp, the Judo and Jujutsu Academy Bushido-Kwai. On March 14, 1951, the club was relocated to Mechelen. On 28 November 1996, it became the first Belgian judo club to be awarded the predicate Royal: the club is called the Royal Judo and Karate Academy Bushido-Kwai Mechelen. In October 1950, De Smedt co-founded the Bel. A. J. A. The Bel A. J. A. and the Association Fédérale Belge de Judo et Ju Jitsu (AFBJJ) were the predecessors to the Belgian Judo Federation. As an instructor, De Smedt was known for his emphasis on highly technical and clean judo, eschewing the use of blunt force.

Paris Saint-Germain Judo, commonly known as PSG Judo, is a French professional judo club based in the city of Paris in France. It is the judo department of parent club Paris Saint-Germain. Having already existed between 1992 and 2003, the section was refounded in 2017. Their home ground is the CMG Dojo, located inside the CMG One Italie sports complex. It houses the training facilities of the professional judokas but also the club's youth system, the Paris Saint-Germain Academy Judo.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Grand Palais Éphémère</span> Temporary exhibition space in Paris

The Grand Palais éphémère is a temporary exhibition hall in the Champ de Mars by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The 10,000 m2 hall opened in 2021 and is meant to be dismantled in 2024. Its purpose is to host exhibitions while the Grand Palais is being renovated for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The Grand Palais Éphémère will host the judo and wrestling events at the 2024 Summer Olympics, and judo and wheelchair rugby at the 2024 Summer Paralympics. GL events, the events organisation major, is the concessionaire for the ephemeral Grand Palais. It maintains and manages the resale of the building.

Lola Mansour is a Belgian professional judoka, gold medalist at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore (2010) and the European Junior Championships (2012). She is Belgian champion in her category in addition to international podiums between 2009 and 2018. Lola publishes her first novel Ceinture blanche in 2018 following an accident that interrupts her sports career. As a feminist activist, ambassador of Give and Take and co-founder of the #BalanceTonSport movement, Lola aims at the empowerment of women for a more inclusive and egalitarian society.

François Gauthier-Drapeau is a Canadian judoka who competes in the men's 81 kg category and formerly in the 73 kg category. Gauthier-Drapeau was born in Alma, Quebec, Canada. Gauthier-Drapeau has won multiple medals at the World and Pan-American level.
