The 1968 Winter Olympics, officially known as the X Olympic Winter Games, was a winter multi-sport event held in Grenoble, France, from 6 to 18 February 1968. A total of 1,158 athletes representing 37 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) participated, including first-time entrants Morocco. The games featured 35 events in 6 sports and 10 disciplines. The team relay event in biathlon was contested for the first time.

Alexandre François Étienne Jean Bouin was a French middle-distance runner. He competed in the 1500m at the 1908 Olympics and the 5000m at the 1912 Olympics. He won a silver medal in the 5000m in 1912, behind Hannes Kolehmainen. His race against Kolehmainen has long been regarded as one of the most memorable moments in running. Kolehmainen and Bouin quickly pulled away from the others, with Bouin leading and Kolehmainen repeatedly trying to pass him. Kolehmainen succeeded only 20 metres from the finish, winning by 0.1 seconds. Both contenders broke the previous world record.
Jean Hurring was a swimmer from New Zealand. She won a bronze medal in the 100 m backstroke at the 1952 Summer Olympics.
Haiti sent a delegation to compete in the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, People's Republic of China, from August 8 to August 24, 2008. The Haitian Olympic team included seven athletes participating in track and field, boxing, and judo. More women participated for Haiti in 2008 than at any single Olympic games prior. Although Pierre and Dorival advanced to quarterfinals in their events, there were no Haitian medalists in Beijing. Brutus carried his country's flag at the ceremonies.
Benin took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics which were held in Beijing, China from 8 to 24 August 2008. The country's participation at Beijing marked its eighth consecutive appearance in the summer Olympics since its debut in 1972, and its ninth Olympic appearance ever. The Benin delegation included five athletes in 2008, participating in three sports: athletics, swimming and taekwondo. He won two gold and two silver medals in these events at the European championships of 1969 to 1974. Nallet retired after finishing sixth in the 400 m hurdles at the 1978 European Athletics Championships. He was married to French Olympic gymnast Chantal Seggiaro.
Jean Peytel was a French sailor. He competed in the mixed two person keelboat at the 1932 and 1948 Summer Olympics. In between, he competed in the mixed 6 metres at the 1936 Summer Olympics. His final competition was in the mixed three person keelboat at the 1960 Summer Olympics.

Jean "Janne" Cronstedt is a Swedish former gymnast. He competed in eight events at the 1960 Summer Olympics. After his sports career, Cronstedt worked as a physician in Sweden, South Africa and Saudi Arabia.
