Jefferson Hack (born 20 June 1971) [1] is a Curator, Creative Director. He is the co-founder, editorial director and CEO of Dazed Media, an independent [2] media company with an HQ in London and international offices in USA, Asia, and in the Middle East and North Africa, that produces stories across its print, digital and video brands. [3] The company's portfolio includes fashion bi-annuals Another Magazine and Another Man ; [4] quarterly youth fashion and culture magazine Dazed , and websites Anothermag.com, Dazeddigital.com, Dazedbeauty.com [5] and Anothermanmag.com in addition to the creative wing Dazed Studio. Hack, who previously served as Editor of these titles, is also co-founder of global video channel Nowness. [6]

Early life and career

Hack was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and lived for much of his childhood and teenage years in Cliffsend, Kent. [1]

In 1991, at the age of 19, Hack founded Dazed with photographer Rankin while a student at London College of Printing. [1] In 2001 Hack launched luxury bi-annual Another Magazine. [7] In 2005 Hack co-founded men's style bi-annual Another Man. [8]

In 2006 Hack launched dazeddigital.com, in 2009 he launched anothermag.com, and in 2017 he launched anothermanmag.com. [9] [10]

In 2010 Hack co-founded Nowness, an independent luxury lifestyle video channel in partnership with LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. [11] In 2017 Dazed Media and Modern Media formed a joint venture titled Modern Dazed and acquired a majority stake in Nowness. [12]

In 2013, Hack launched Dazed Studio, [13] the creative agency wing of Dazed Media, which makes digital, video, print, events and social media for brands, Dazed & Confused was rebranded as Dazed in spring 2014. [14]

Hack has worked with Björk [15] and as creative consultant to U2. [16] [17] In 2015 he worked with Rihanna on a project with Alexander McQueen and Another Magazine that resulted in the world's first digital cover magazine and in 2015 with fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld which resulted in the world's first handcrafted hologram fashion magazine cover. In 2019, Hack curated TRANSFORMER: A Rebirth of Wonder, an exhibition during Frieze 2019 presented by The Store X and The Vinyl Factory at 180 The Strand in London. The show featured newly commissioned and debut work by: Korakrit Arunanondchai, Doug Aitken, Donna Huanca, Juliana Huxtable, Evan Ifekoya, Dozie Kanu, Quentin Lacombe, Lawrence, Lek, Sophia Al Maria, Jenn Nkiru, George Rouy, Victoria Sin, Chen Wei and Harley Weir. In 2022, Hack was honoured at The Fashion Awards 2022, receiving the Special Recognition Award for Cultural Curation for empowering youth through creativity and for creating countless opportunities for next generation creatives working across fashion, design, art, music and more, providing a platform and supporting emerging talent. [21]

In 2024, during Salone del Mobile, Hack curated ‘An Invitation To Dream’, a large-scale public exhibition, presented by Moncler, which featured creatives shaping dreams and culture, transforming Milano Centrale railway station into one of the world’s largest public galleries. The exhibition engaged talents including Daniel Arsham, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Isamaya Ffrench, Laila Gohar, Jeremy O. Harris, Francesca Hayward, Julianknxx, Ruth Rogers, Rina Sawayama, Sumayya Vally, Zaya, and Remo Ruffini. [22]

In 2024, as part of a collaboration between Christie’s and the ocean conservation charity Blue Marine Foundation, Hack curated a selection of works by six photographers including David Bailey, Rankin, Viviane Sassen, Alex Prager, Harley Weir and Jamie Hawkesworth, to be offered in Post-War and Contemporary Art Online.

In 2024, Hack launched Dazed Club, a free networking and careers app for Dazed Club’s next gen community - a space to share work, exchange ideas, follow Dazed content, and access exclusive opportunities — from DMing peers and contributing to editorial, to attending talks, club nights, exhibitions, festivals, screenings, workshops, and more. In 2025, Hack launched ‘Where It’s At…’ is a new podcast series bringing together some of culture’s most eclectic and influential creatives including author Dr Deepak Chopra, poet, author and musician Patti Smith; artist Marina Abramović; theoretical physicist and best selling author Carlo Rovelli, and biologist Merlin Sheldrake. Personal life

Hack was in a relationship with model Kate Moss in the early 2000s. Together they have a daughter, Lila Moss (born Lila Grace Moss Hack) [25] [26] [27] born in 2002. [28] [29] . He lives in East London. [1] In July 2023 he married Anna Cleveland, daughter of model Pat Cleveland. [30] They have a son, Presley Phoenix Hack, born 20 April 2025. [31]
