Jens Kuross is an American singer-songwriter and musician based in Idaho. He has previously recorded and toured with The Acid, Howling and RY X.
Jens was born in Seattle, Washington, but moved to Ketchum, Idaho with his family when he was six years old. Jens began his professional music career at the age of 15 when he began drumming for a jazz trio in the Duchin room (named after the wife of American pianist and bandleader Eddie Duchin). He continued to play this gig regularly until he moved, sharing the bandstand with and learning from the gig's bassist, Jeff Rew, a former session player from San Diego who had spent time on the road with both Elvis Presley and the Buddy Rich big band.
After graduating from Wood River High School, Jens moved to Boston to study at the Berklee College of Music, graduating with a degree in jazz drum set performance. He then moved to Los Angeles where he played in the local Jazz scene and worked as a session musician in a variety of genres and capacities. He earned a master's degree from Azusa Pacific University in Jazz Performance in 2013. Jens moved back to Idaho in 2020.
In 2016, Jens Kuross released his self-titled debut EP via London-based record label Aesop. It gained favourable reviews from a number of high-profile blogs and publications, including The Line Of Best Fit [1] and DIY Magazine. [2]
In 2017, Kuross supported DJ/producer Bonobo (musician) on his sold-out European tour. [3] Later that year, Jens became a full-time member of The Acid, [4] and his single "Spiraling" was featured in the closing credits of an episode of Lucifer (TV series).
In April 2018, Kuross released his new EP, 'Art! at the expense of mental health, Vol. 1', supporting the release with two Europe tours. One supportingRhye and one supporting Mercury Prize-nominated Jazz trio GoGo Penguin. He also played his first London headline show at Servant Jazz Quarters, selling out the venue.
In October 2018, Kuross released the second installment of his 'Art! at the expense of mental health' project, 'Art! at the expense of mental health, Vol. 2'.
In April 2019, Jens Kuross released his single, 'Give Me Your Ghost'.
Alongside his solo endeavours, Kuross has forged a successful career as a studio and touring musician. He has performed and recorded with both Howling and RY X, alongside his time spent recording drum, percussion and keyboard parts for numerous LA-based jazz musicians and ensembles. [5]
Kuross released his debut album, The Man Nobody Can Touch, on 25 September 2020.

Earl Rudolph "Bud" Powell was an American jazz pianist and composer. A pioneer in the development of bebop and its associated contributions to jazz theory, Powell's application of complex phrasing to the piano influenced both his contemporaries and later pianists including Walter Davis Jr., Toshiko Akiyoshi, and Barry Harris.
Stanley Clarke is an American bassist, composer and founding member of Return to Forever, one of the first jazz fusion bands. Clarke gave the bass guitar a prominence it lacked in jazz-related music. He is the first jazz-fusion bassist to headline tours, sell out shows worldwide and have recordings reach gold status.
William Scott Bruford is an English drummer and percussionist who first gained prominence as a founding member of the progressive rock band Yes. After leaving Yes in 1972, Bruford spent the rest of the 1970s recording and touring with King Crimson (1972–1974), Roy Harper (1975), and U.K. (1978), as well as touring with Genesis (1976). In 1978, he formed his own group, Bruford, which was active until 1980.
Raymond Matthews Brown was an American jazz double bassist, known for his extensive work with Oscar Peterson and Ella Fitzgerald. He was also a founding member of the group that would later develop into the Modern Jazz Quartet.

Shawn Lane was an American musician who released two studio albums and collaborated with a variety of musicians including Ringo Starr, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Reggie Young, Joe Walsh, Jonas Hellborg, Anders Johansson, Jens Johansson and many others. After studying the piano, he learned to play the guitar, which he played with exceptional speed.
Henry Jones Jr. was an American jazz pianist, bandleader, arranger, and composer. Critics and musicians described Jones as eloquent, lyrical, and impeccable. In 1989, The National Endowment for the Arts honored him with the NEA Jazz Masters Award. He was also honored in 2003 with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) Jazz Living Legend Award. In 2008, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts. On April 13, 2009, the University of Hartford presented Jones with an honorary Doctorate of Music for his musical accomplishments.
Ryo Kawasaki was a Japanese jazz fusion guitarist, composer and band leader, best known as one of the first musicians to develop and popularise the fusion genre and for helping to develop the guitar synthesizer in collaboration with Roland Corporation and Korg. His album Ryo Kawasaki and the Golden Dragon Live was one of the first all-digital recordings and he created the Kawasaki Synthesizer for the Commodore 64. During the 1960s, he played with various Japanese jazz groups and also formed his own bands. In the early 1970s, he moved to New York City, where he settled and worked with Gil Evans, Elvin Jones, Chico Hamilton, Ted Curson, Joanne Brackeen amongst others. In the mid-1980s, Kawasaki drifted out of performing music in favour of writing music software for computers. He also produced several techno dance singles, formed his own record company called Satellites Records, and later returned to jazz-fusion in 1991.

Bradford Alexander Mehldau is an American jazz pianist, composer, and arranger.
¡Forward, Russia! are an English rock band from Leeds, active between 2004 and 2008, before re-forming in 2013. The band's debut album, Give Me a Wall, was released in 2006. Until 2006, the band only named tracks with numbers, in the order that they were written. The band had used faux Cyrillic, with its name occasionally typeset as ¡FФЯWДЯD, RUSSIД!. The band went on hiatus after the release of their second album, Life Processes, in 2008. They re-formed in 2013 for a show at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds in November 2013 for its 10th anniversary, and then played the Live at Leeds Festival at Leeds Town Hall in 2014.

He was also the last pianist with legendary bassist Ray Brown's Trio, member of the Jeff Hamilton Trio, and member of the John Pizzarelli Quartet. He has also performed with artists including Stanley Turrentine, Phil Woods, Clark Terry, Herb Ellis, Ernestine Anderson, John Legend, and Nicholas Payton.
