Jeremiah Moulton (b. York, Massachusetts (now in York, Maine), 1688, d. York, 20 July 1765) was a New England militia officer and member of the Massachusetts Council. As a boy, during King William's War, Moulton's parents were killed and he was taken captive in the Raid on York (1692). [1]

Massachusetts's 6th congressional district is located in northeastern Massachusetts. It contains most of Essex County, including the North Shore and Cape Ann, as well as part of Middlesex County. It is represented by Seth Moulton, who has represented the district since January 2015. The shape of the district went through minor changes effective from the elections of 2012 after Massachusetts congressional redistricting to reflect the 2010 census. The towns of Tewksbury and Billerica were added, along with a small portion of the town of Andover.
Arthur Wheelock Moulton was an American Episcopal bishop, born at Worcester, Massachusetts. He graduated from Hobart College, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, then attended the Episcopal General Theological Seminary, and the Episcopal Theological School. He was ordained a priest in the Protestant Episcopal Church in 1901. From 1900 to 1918, he was curate and rector of Grace Church, Lawrence, Massachusetts. He was awarded an honorary A.M. degree by Hobart College in 1909 He served in World War I as a chaplain in the field artillery and at a base hospital in France. On April 29, 1920, he was consecrated bishop of Utah, where he served until his retirement in 1946. He wrote Memoir of Augustine H. Amory (1909) and It Comes to Pass (1916). He died in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1962.
The Raid on York took place on 24 January 1692 during King William's War, when Chief Madockawando and Father Louis-Pierre Thury led 200-300 natives into the town of York, killing about 100 of the English settlers and burning down buildings, taking another estimated 80 villagers hostage. The villagers were forced to walk to Canada, New France, where they were ransomed by Capt. John Alden Jr. of Boston. One of those taken captive was a young Jeremiah Moulton, who would later gain notoriety during the Father Rale's War.

Colonel Johnson Harmon was an army officer in colonial America. He led the expedition during Father Rale's War that killed Father Sébastien Rale in the Battle of Norridgewock. Harmon was heralded as a hero upon his return to Boston. New England Officer and historian Samuel Penahallow proclaimed the attack was "the greatest victory we have obtained in the three or four last wars."
Luella Dowd Smith was an American educator and author of prose and verse. She was active in social reform movements of the day. Smith taught school for ten years and was the principal of three high schools and one academy. She was also active in the areas of temperance, Sunday school, prohibition, and equal suffrage. Smith wrote for the National Temperance Society. She was the author of Wayside Leaves, 1879; Wind Flowers, 1887; Flowers from Foreign Fields, 1895; The Value of the Church, 1898; Thirteen Temperance Theses and Two Trilogies, 1901; as well as Ways to win, 1904; Daily ideas and ideals, 1930; and Along the way; poems, 1938.
