Jerry Wasserman (born November 2, 1945) is an American professor and film and television actor.
Wasserman was born in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was a professor of English and Theatre at the University of British Columbia. [1] He was also a frequent co-star of Don S. Davis. At Cornell University, he received a doctorate in English literature.

Dramaturgy is the study of dramatic composition and the representation of the main elements of drama on the stage.
Sharon Pollock, was a Canadian playwright, actor, and director. She was Artistic Director of Theatre Calgary (1984), Theatre New Brunswick (1988–1990) and Performance Kitchen & The Garry Theatre, the latter which she herself founded in 1992. In 2007, she was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Pollock was one of Canada's most notable playwrights, and was a major part of the development of what is known today as Canadian Theatre.
Marc Lescarbot was a French author, poet and lawyer. He is best known for his Histoire de la Nouvelle-France (1609), based on his expedition to Acadia (1606–1607) and research into French exploration in North America. Considered one of the first great books in the history of Canada, it was printed in three editions, and was translated into German.
d’bi.young anitafrika is a Jamaican-Canadian feminist dub poet, activist, and singer for the band D’bi and the 333. Their work includes theatrical performances, four published collections of poetry, twelve plays, and seven albums.

Marie Clements is a Canadian Métis playwright, performer, director, producer and screenwriter. She was the founding artistic director of Urban Ink Productions, and is currently co-artistic director of Red Diva Projects, and director of her new film company Working Pajama Lab Entertainment. Clements lives on Galiano Island, British Columbia. As a writer she has worked in a variety of media including theatre, performance, film, multi-media, radio and television.

Donovan King is a professional actor, teacher, historian, and tour guide from Montreal, Quebec. As the founder of Haunted Montreal, a company that researches ghost stories and offers haunted tours, King hires professional actors to lead the tours and publishes a new ghost story every month on the Haunted Montreal Blog. King is also a performance activist and experimental theatre artist who juggles acting, teaching, directing, dramaturgy, and theory to create dramatic projects that challenge systemic oppression. Known for his commitment to education and community, King assisted with the establishment of the Montreal Fringe Festival in 1991, is the author of Doing Theatre in Montreal and he set up the Montreal Infringement Festival in 2004.

Mary Vingoe is a Canadian playwright, actress, and theatre director. Vingoe was one of the co-founders of Canadian feminist theatre company Nightwood Theatre and later co-founded Ship's Company Theatre in Parrsboro and Eastern Front Theatre in Halifax. From 2002 to 2007, Vingoe was artistic director of the Magnetic North Theatre Festival. Vingoe is an Officer of the Order of Canada and received the Portia White Prize. Her play Refuge was a shortlisted nominee for the Governor General's Award for English-language drama at the 2016 Governor General's Awards.
Harriette Taber Richardson (1875—1951) was involved in the rebuilding of the Habitation at Port-Royal throughout the 1920s and 1930s. During the rebuilding, Richardson helped raise money for the project and theorized that the site was from Samuel Champlain. Apart from Port-Royal, Richardson translated Marc Lescarbot's play Théâtre de Neptune in 1926. Richardson was named one of the Persons of National Historic Significance of Canada in 1949.
Feminist theater grew out of the wider Political theater of the 1970s, and continues to the present. It can take on a variety of meanings, but the constant thread is the lived experience of women.
Svetlana Zylin (1948-2002) was a Belgian-born Canadian theatre director and playwright. She was also the founder of the Women's Theatre Collective in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Diane Roberts is an interdisciplinary theatre creator. Roberts was a founding member of Obsidian Theatre. Roberts was an artistic co-director of Nightwood Theatre, the artistic director of Urban Ink Productions, and a co-founder and artistic director of Boldskool Productions. She is the creator of the Arrivals Legacy Project.
Hugh Webster was a Scottish-born Canadian actor. He was most noted for his role in the film For Gentlemen Only, for which he and his costar Ed McNamara were joint winners of the Canadian Film Award for Best Actor in a Non-Feature at the 27th Canadian Film Awards in 1976.
Aida Jordão is a Portuguese-Canadian playwright, theatre director, and academic. She is a co-founder of the feminist theatre group, Company of Sirens, and she co-created This is For You, Anna, a germinal Canadian feminist theatre play.
Roy Matthews Mitchell was a Canadian-American theatre practitioner who played an important role in little theatre in Canada and the United States. He was involved in the creation and was the first artistic director of the Hart House Theatre at the University of Toronto, and was an influence on Vincent Massey, Herman Voaden and Mavor Moore. In 1974 Moore wrote "in 1929, Roy Mitchell was a voice crying in the near-wilderness of Canada" and called him "the seer who said it all on our own doorstep nearly half a century ago." A later scholar wrote that Mitchell's "vision ... did not fully come to pass in his lifetime, nor did it subsequently."
Loren Kruger is a South African writer, editor, and translator based in Chicago. She holds a BA (Hons.) in English and Mathematics from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and a PhD in Comparative Literature from Cornell University, and completed independent study at the Institut d'études théâtrales at the University of Paris III and the Institut für Theaterwissenschaft at the Free University in Berlin. She edited Theatre Journal from 1996 to 1999, and served as contributing editor for Theatre Research International in 2002 and 2003 and taught comparative literature, theatre and performance studies, cinema and media studies, and African studies at the University of Chicago (1986-2024). Her areas of expertise and ongoing research include theatre and performance in Europe and the Americas as well as in her native South Africa, cinema and other media, and urban life and cultures in global, local and glocal contexts. Her published work includes books, translation, and articles, some of which are listed below, and reviews of live performance in Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
