Jerry P. Weiers [1] is an American politician,who's currently serving as the mayor of Glendale,Arizona,a position he has held since January 2013. [2] [3] Prior to that,Weiers served four consecutive terms in the Arizona House of Representatives,representing Arizona's 12th District. [4] [5] [6] [7]
A Republican, [8] Weiers first moved from his home state North Dakota [1] to Arizona in 1966. [9] He has made history in the Arizona State Legislature by serving alongside his brother Jim Weiers,becoming first brothers in Arizona history to serve together in the state legislature. [8]
Jerry Weiers is known to have a brother,who's also an Arizona local politician and fellow State Legislature member,Jim Weiers [8] (1953–2024). [10]
Weiers has been married for more than two decades to his wife Sandy. They have one daughter. Weiers is also known to have briefly lived in Alaska and two years in New Mexico. [8]

James Weiers was a Republican member of the Arizona Senate and the Arizona House of Representatives,representing various Arizona Legislative Districts. He was initially elected to the House in 1994,where he served as one of the two District 16 representatives from January 1995 through January 2003. In 2002,he ran and won the seat for the Arizona State Senate for District 10,which was similar to the prior District 16 after redistricting. He served in the Senate for one term,from January 2003 through January 2005. In 2004,he ran successfully for the House,again in District 10. He was re-elected three more times to represent the House,serving from January 2005 through January 2013. He served twice as Speaker of the House,the first time from 2001 to 2002,and the second time from 2005 to 2009. Weiers died on April 19,2024.

Russell Jones was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives,representing Arizona's 24th District twice,the first time from January 2005 until January 2007,and the second time for two terms from January 2009 to January 2013. After his first term,Jones chose not to run in the 2006 election,and was replaced by Theresa Ulmer In the following election in 2008,Jones re-entered the race,and defeated Ulmer in the general election.

Carolyn Allen was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives and the Arizona State Senate from 1994 through 2011. She was first elected to the Arizona House in November 1992,where she represented District 28. She was subsequently re-elected three times to the House,always representing District 29. After serving four terms in the House,the Arizona Constitution prevented Allen from running for a fifth term. She ran for the Arizona Senate in 2002 in District 8,which was new due to redistricting in the state. She won the election and won re-election 3 more times to serve as the State Senator from District 8.
Robert Blendu was a member of the Arizona State Senate from 2003 through 2009. He was first elected to the Senate in November 2002,and was re-elected twice,in 2004 and 2006. In 2008 Blendu decided to not seek re-election to the Senate and ran for a seat in the Arizona House of Representatives in the same district. However,he lost to Steve Montenegro and Jerry Weiers in the Republican primary.
Linda Aguirre is a former member of the Arizona State Senate and the Arizona House of Representatives,initially representing the 23rd District before redistricting in 2002 moved her to the 16th District. She was first elected to the House in November 1992. She won re-election to the House in 1994 and 1996.
Steve Huffman is an American politician who is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives,serving from January 1999 until January 2007. He was first elected to the House in November 1998,representing District 12,and won re-election to that district in 2000. After redistricting in 2002,Huffman was reelected in both 2002,now representing District 26,and 2004.
Bill Arnold is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 2003 until January 2005. He was elected to the House in November 2002,representing the newly aligned District 12,after redistricting. In 2004,Arnold ran for re-election,but lost in the Republican primary to Jerry Weiers.
Jim Carruthers is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 1997 until January 2005. He was first elected to the House in November 1996,representing District 5,and was re-elected to that same district in 1998 and 2000. After redistricting in 2002,he ran for re-election in District 24 and won. Due to Arizona's term limit law,he was unable to run for re-election in 2004.
Susan Gerard is a former member of both the Arizona State Senate and the Arizona House of Representatives. She served in the House from January 1989 until January 2001,and in the Senate from January 2001 through January 2003. She was first elected to the House in November 1988,representing District 18,and was re-elected five times,in 1990,1992,1994,1996,and 1998. In 2000 she ran for the State Senate seat in the same district and won. After redistricting in 2002,she ran for re-election in District 11,but lost in the Republican primary to Barbara Leff.
Joe Eddie Lopez is a former member of both the Arizona State Senate and the Arizona House of Representatives. He served in the House from January 1989 until January 2001,and in the Senate from January 2001 through January 2003. She was first elected to the House in November 1990,representing District 22,and was re-elected in 1992 and 1994. In 1996 he ran for the State Senate from the district,and won. He was re-elected in 1998 and 2000. He did not run for re-election in 2002.

Lou-Ann Maxine Preble was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives. She served in the House from January 1993 through January 2001,representing district 9. She could not run for re-election in 2000 due to the amendment to the Arizona Constitution which limited politicians to serving four consecutive terms. She died on May 2,2024 at the age of 94.
Robert McLendon was an American politician who served as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives. McLendon served nine terms in the House from January 1983 through January 2001,representing district 5. The amendment to the Arizona Constitution which limited politicians to serving four consecutive terms in either house was passed in 1992,after he had already served five terms. McLendon died on March 9,2022,at the age of 85.
