Jerry Weiers is the current mayor of Glendale,Arizona,a position he has held since January 2013. [1] [2] Prior to that,Weiers served four consecutive terms in the Arizona House of Representatives,representing Arizona's 12th District. [3] [4] [5] [6]
Robert Burns is a politician from Arizona. He is a former member of the Arizona Corporation Commission. Prior to that,he served in the Arizona State Senate,where in his final term,he was also elected as the President of the Senate. Before that he served six terms in the Arizona House of Representatives.
The 47th Arizona State Legislature,consisting of the Arizona State Senate and the Arizona House of Representatives,was constituted in Phoenix from January 1,2005,to December 31,2006,during the second two years of Janet Napolitano's first term in office. Both the Senate and the House membership remained constant at 30 and 60,respectively. The Republicans gained a seat in the Senate,giving them an 18-12 majority. The Republicans maintained their majority in the lower chamber,39–21,while the Democrats picked up the sole seat held by an Independent.
David Burnell Smith was a Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives,representing Arizona Legislative District 7. He served in the House from January 2005 until January 2006,and again from January 2011 until January 2013. He ran unsuccessfully for re-election in November 2014. Smith died of natural causes at his home in Carefree,Arizona on October 24,2014.
James Weiers was a Republican member of the Arizona Senate and the Arizona House of Representatives,representing various Arizona Legislative Districts. He was initially elected to the House in 1994,where he served as one of the two District 16 representatives from January 1995 through January 2003. In 2002,he ran and won the seat for the Arizona State Senate for District 10,which was similar to the prior District 16 after redistricting. He served in the Senate for one term,from January 2003 through January 2005. In 2004,he ran successfully for the House,again in District 10. He was re-elected three more times to represent the House,serving from January 2005 through January 2013. He served twice as Speaker of the House,the first time from 2001 to 2002,and the second time from 2005 to 2009.
Cecil Ash was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives,representing Arizona's 18th District from January 2009 until January 2013.
Russell Jones was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives,representing Arizona's 24th District twice,the first time from January 2005 until January 2007,and the second time for two terms from January 2009 to January 2013. After his first term,Jones chose not to run in the 2006 election,and was replaced by Theresa Ulmer In the following election in 2008,Jones re-entered the race,and defeated Ulmer in the general election.

Carolyn Allen was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives and the Arizona State Senate from 1994 through 2011. She was first elected to the Arizona House in November 1992,where she represented District 28. She was subsequently re-elected three times to the House,always representing District 29. After serving four terms in the House,the Arizona Constitution prevented Allen from running for a fifth term. She ran for the Arizona Senate in 2002 in District 8,which was new due to redistricting in the state. She won the election and won re-election 3 more times to serve as the State Senator from District 8.
Robert Blendu was a member of the Arizona State Senate from 2003 through 2009. He was first elected to the Senate in November 2002,and was re-elected twice,in 2004 and 2006. In 2008 Blendu decided to not seek re-election to the Senate and ran for a seat in the Arizona House of Representatives in the same district. However,he lost to Steve Montenegro and Jerry Weiers in the Republican primary.
Tom Prezelski is an American author,and was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives,representing the 29th District. He was first appointed to the legislature by the Pima County Board of Supervisors on February 11,2003,to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Victor Soltero. Soltero resigned on January 23 when he was appointed by the same Board of Supervisors to fill the vacancy in the State Senate when Ramón Valadez did not take the Oath of Office. He won re-election in 2004 and 2006. In his 2008 re-election bid,he came in third in the Democratic primary,behind eventual winners of the general election Matt Heinz and Daniel Patterson.
Marian McClure is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives,initially representing the 9th District before redistricting in 2002 moved her to the 30th District. She was first elected to the House in November 2000. She won re-election in 2002,2004,and 2006. Due to Arizona term limits,she was ineligible to run for re-election in 2008. Instead,she ran for the Arizona State Senate,where she lost in the Republican primary to incumbent Frank Antenori,who went on to re-election in the general election.
Linda Aguirre is a former member of the Arizona State Senate and the Arizona House of Representatives,initially representing the 23rd District before redistricting in 2002 moved her to the 16th District. She was first elected to the House in November 1992. She won re-election to the House in 1994 and 1996.
Cheryl Chase is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 2001 until January 2007. She was first elected to the House in November 2000,representing District 7. After redistricting in 2002,Chase was reelected in both 2002,now representing District 23,and 2004. Chase did not run for re-election to the House in 2006,instead choosing to run for the Arizona State Senate. She lost in the general election to Rebecca Rios.
Bill Arnold is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 2003 until January 2005. He was elected to the House in November 2002,representing the newly aligned District 12,after redistricting. In 2004,Arnold ran for re-election,but lost in the Republican primary to Jerry Weiers.
John Loredo is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 1997 until January 2005. Prior to running for the Arizona House,he ran unsuccessfully for the Phoenix City Council in 1992. In 1994 he worked on the unsuccessful campaign for governor of Eddie Basha Jr. He was first elected to the House in November 1996,representing District 22,and was re-elected to that same district in 1998 and 2000. After redistricting in 2002,he ran unopposed for re-election in District 13,along with fellow Democrat Steve Gallardo.
Jim Carruthers is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 1997 until January 2005. He was first elected to the House in November 1996,representing District 5,and was re-elected to that same district in 1998 and 2000. After redistricting in 2002,he ran for re-election in District 24 and won. Due to Arizona's term limit law,he was unable to run for re-election in 2004.
Ramon Valadez is a former member of both the Arizona House of Representatives and the Arizona State Senate. He served in the House from January 1997 until January 2001,and in the Senate from January 2001 through January 2003. He was first elected to the House in November 1996,representing District 10,and was re-elected in 1998. In 2000,Valadez ran for the State Senate seat in the same district and won. He ran for re-election in 2002,in the newly redistricted District 29,and won. He did not take the oath of office in January 2003,and was replaced by Victor Soltero.
Susan Gerard is a former member of both the Arizona State Senate and the Arizona House of Representatives. She served in the House from January 1989 until January 2001,and in the Senate from January 2001 through January 2003. She was first elected to the House in November 1988,representing District 18,and was re-elected five times,in 1990,1992,1994,1996,and 1998. In 2000 she ran for the State Senate seat in the same district and won. After redistricting in 2002,she ran for re-election in District 11,but lost in the Republican primary to Barbara Leff.
Kathi Foster is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives. She served in the House from January 1995 through January 2003,serving district 14. Not eligible to run for the House in 2002,due to Arizona term limit laws,she ran for the State Senate in the newly redistricted District 13,but lost in the Democrat primary to Richard Miranda. She ran again for the Senate in 2004,this time in District 12,but lost in the general election to incumbent Robert Blendu.
W. A. McGibbon is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives. He served in the House from January 1993 through January 2001,representing district 9. He could not run for re-election in 2000 due to the amendment to the Arizona Constitution which limited politicians to serving four consecutive terms.
