Jessica Barry (born 14 June 1994) [1] is a professional super featherweight boxer known as "the Celtic Banshee" or "Banshee Barry". [2] [3]
Barry was born in Warwick, Warwickshire in 1994. She had a successful amateur boxing career with Christ the King ABC in Coventry, winning 18 of 19 fights, before turning professional in 2022. [4] Whilst studying computer science at Coventry University she won the Universities Elite Cup. [5]
Barry previously boxed out of Fitzpatrick's gym in Leamington Spa and was trained by Derek Fitzpatrick. [5] She currently boxes out of Birmingham’s Eastside gym. [6]
In 2024 she won the Midlands Area super-featherweight title against Beccy Ferguson in six rounds. [7]
She has Irish heritage and has represented Ireland at boxing events. [3] [8]
Finbar Patrick "Barry" McGuigan MBE is an Irish boxing promoter and former professional boxer. Born in Clones, County Monaghan, McGuigan was nicknamed The Clones Cyclone and held the WBA and lineal featherweight titles from 1985 to 1986. At regional level he also held the British and European featherweight titles between 1983 and 1985. In 1985, McGuigan became BBC Sports Personality of the Year. In 2005, he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Gabriel "Flash" Elorde was a Filipino professional boxer. He won the lineal super featherweight title in 1960. In 1963, he won the inaugural WBC and WBA super featherweight titles. He holds the record at super featherweight division for the longest title reign, spanning seven years. Elorde is considered one of the best Filipino boxers of all time along with eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao and Pancho Villa, flyweight champion in the 1920s. He was much beloved in the Philippines as a sports and cultural icon, being the first Filipino international boxing champion since middleweight champion Ceferino Garcia.

Birthony Katarina Nansen, better known as Baby Nansen, is a New Zealand professional boxer and kickboxer. Nansen's biggest fight of her career was against Melissa St. Vil for the vacant WBC Silver female super featherweight title on the Kali Reis vs. Maricela Cornejo undercard. Despite losing the bout, she fought very well and received a WBC ranking of 39th. Nansen has fought on a King in the Ring undercard.
