Jesus Salud (born 3 May 1963) is a Filipino-born American former professional boxer. Originally from Sinait in the Philippines, he resides in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Professional career

He won the WBA super bantamweight title by disqualification on December 11, 1989, in a bout against Juan Jose Estrada. He was stripped of his title by the World Boxing Association in April 1990. The WBA took Salud’s belt away for failing to defend it in Colombia against the No. 1 contender, Luis Mendoza. [1]

In 2002, he lost to then-two division champion Manny Pacquiao in a three-round exhibition. [2]

Gabriel "Flash" Elorde was a Filipino professional boxer. He won the lineal super featherweight title in 1960. In 1963, he won the inaugural WBC and WBA super featherweight titles. He holds the record at super featherweight division for the longest title reign, spanning seven years. Elorde is considered one of the best Filipino boxers of all time along with eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao and Pancho Villa, flyweight champion in the 1920s. He was much beloved in the Philippines as a sports and cultural icon, being the first Filipino international boxing champion since middleweight champion Ceferino Garcia.

Akifumi Shimoda is a Featherweight boxer from Japan and the former world champion of WBA at Super bantamweight. He was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido and grew up in Kure City in Hiroshima Prefecture. He currently lives in Tokyo. Shimoda has trained under Yūichi Kasai's instruction at the Teiken Boxing Gym in Tokyo.
