Jeung Soon-bok (born August 9,1960) is a South Korean team handball player and Olympic silver medalist. She played for the South Korean team which finished second at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. [2]
South Korea,as Korea,competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles,United States. The nation returned to the Summer Games after participating in the American-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics. 175 competitors,116 men and 59 women,took part in 97 events in 19 sports. As the country hosted the next Olympics in Seoul,a traditional Korean segment was performed at the closing ceremony.
Handball at the 1984 Summer Olympics featured competition for men and women. Due to the USSR-led boycott some strong handball nations from Eastern Bloc did not compete;this gave an opportunity to the Yugoslav team to take both gold medals. Games were played at Titan Gym in Fullerton,California,and the finals were at the Forum,later the Kia Forum,in Inglewood,California.

West Point Team Handball is a handball club from West Point,New York,United States. They are the handball team of the United States Military Academy. They play with four teams at various competitions. There are two teams for each gender. The West Point Black team is the first team and the West Point Gold team is the second team. They have won the most College National Championships in their collegiate league with the men's team winning 38 College National Championships,with their 16th consecutive College National Championship in 2024 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Three past members have competed in the Summer Olympics for Team USA to include Peter Lash (’81) - 1984 &1988 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and Korea;LTC (R) Craig Gilbert (’78) - 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and Mike Thornberry (’93) - 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
