The California State Legislature is a bicameral state legislature consisting of a lower house, the California State Assembly, with 80 members; and an upper house, the California State Senate, with 40 members. Both houses of the Legislature convene at the California State Capitol in Sacramento. The California state legislature is one of just ten full-time state legislatures in the United States. The houses are distinguished by the colors of the carpet and trim of each house. The Senate is distinguished by red and the Assembly by the color green.

The Speaker of the Senate carries the additional title and office of Lieutenant Governor of Tennessee. In addition to passing a budget for state government plus other legislation, the General Assembly appoints three state officers specified by the state constitution. It is also the initiating body in any process to amend the state's constitution.
The Missouri House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. It has 163 members, representing districts with an average size of 37,000 residents. House members are elected for two-year terms during general elections held in even-numbered years.
The Oklahoma House of Representatives is the lower house of the legislature of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Its members introduce and vote on bills and resolutions, provide legislative oversight for state agencies, and help to craft the state's budget. The upper house of the Oklahoma Legislature is the Oklahoma Senate.
Scott Sales is an American politician of the Republican Party. He is a state senator in the Montana Senate and also serves as the president of that body. He previously served in the Montana House of Representatives, including a term as minority leader and as speaker of the House. Joel Krautter is an American politician and attorney in Montana. Krautter is a Republican member of the Montana House of Representatives from the 35th district. In Krautter’s first legislative term he passed four bills into law and was a champion for business, agriculture and mental health services, receiving recognition by the Montana Chamber of Commerce, Montana Farm Bureau Federation and Disability Rights Montana. Krautter also restored an increase in oil and gas revenue to eastern Montana communities. He has been recognized as one of the Capitol’s most visible bipartisan legislators. Other issues Krautter worked on at the legislature included legislation to revitalize the economies of rural Montana communities through the "Catch and Keep Montana's Treasure Act," as well as bipartisan prescription drug price transparency legislation with Representative Katie Sullivan and a grant program to fund mobile crisis units to help people with a mental crisis, with Senator Edie McClafferty.
Braxton Mitchell is an American politician serving as a Republican member of the Montana House of Representatives from the 3rd district. Elected in 2020, he assumed office on January 4, 2021.
Kelly Kortum is an American politician serving as a member of the Montana House of Representatives from the 65th district. Elected in November 2020, he assumed office on January 4, 2021.
