Jim Shockley was a Republican member of the Montana Legislature. He was elected for Senate District 45,representing the Victor,Montana area,in 2004. Previously he served in the House of Representatives. [1] He was an officer in the US Marine Corps. [2]
In June 2010 Shockley announced his intention to run for Montana Attorney General [3] in the 2012 election. He did not advance past the primaries. He was ineligible to run for re-election for Senate due to Montana's term limits.
Shockley joined the Marine Corps in 1968 and retired as a Major in 1990. He served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart for wounds in combat. [4]

John Bohlinger,Jr. is an American businessman and politician who served as the 33rd Lieutenant Governor of Montana from 2005 to 2013. He ran for the office as a Republican on a bipartisan ticket headed by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Brian Schweitzer. Schweitzer and Bohlinger were elected to the governorship and lieutenant governorship in 2004;both were reelected in 2008. Due to term limits,they were unable to run in the 2012 election. Bohlinger switched to the Democratic Party in 2013.
